Im going to DL for a quick 1 day trip on fri 7/31. We usually have good game plan because we know the park and how to tour but we havent followed recent events. I had no clue that Peter Pan had been updated and now has long wait times. I also wasnt aware that Fantasmic needed a fast pass?? With the Anniversary events too I feel lost. I could use some good touring advice from a regular. We will open the park and would have in the past started with PP. Is all of Fantasyland slower in the morning now because of the overflow from PP?

Also I plan to leave the park about 1pm and then return in the evening. I was thinking around 6pm. Is there a time I should avoid returning to the park because of the events?

Where do I get the FP for Fantasmic? Do I need to do right away?

THANK YOU THANK YOU

Leaving at 1PM and returning at 6PM is a good game plan, but if you are only in the park for one day, you will miss some things with a 5-hr break depending on what you want to do. The PP waits have always been long, so if you don't get there in the first wave of people at RD, expect a 30-60 min wait for the rest of the day. Fantasyland is not slower - you can still get a lot done in Fantasyland in the first hour. Fantasmic fastpasses are located behind Big Thunder Mountain near the Big Thunder BBQ. If you want the first F! show, you should pull the FP within the first few hours of park opening.

Thank you Jeff. I dont HAVE to do anything in particular. We have a longer holiday trip planned that will allow time to see it all. This is a last hoorah before school. I was thinking to cover Fantasyland at opening. Wasnt sure if we should get Dumbo or Nemo done first. Probably will skip PP and make it the last ride of the night. I would like to be at TT for opening to take pictures and then release the teens. Id like to cover TL before leaving at 1pm. Coming back at 6 planned to do JC, POC, HM, SM and WTP. Would like to catch what ever shows are possible in those times and end the night in line for PP.

What does a FP for Fantasmic get me exactly?

When I was there, Peter Pan had a really long line at opening (60+ minutes within 15 minutes of opening), but the rest of FL was fairly quiet. Not quite walk-on, but under 5 minutes for Mr. Toad, Snow White, and Pinnochio at opening. Alice was a little longer (I want to say 20 or so minutes).

The F! FP grants you access to the F! viewing areas. There are three different color areas (yellow, green, and blue), plus the dining package viewing areas. For example, most of the PotC bridge is now part of the Green FP viewing area (so you would need to get a green FP to watch F! from within that area). The Yellow and Blue FP viewing areas are basically either to the left (blue) or right (yellow) of center; the center is reserved for the dining packages. They distribute FPs along Big Thunder Trail, starting with the first show (yellow, green, then blue) and then they distribute FPs for the second show (yellow, green, then blue). It's very similar to how they distribute FPs for WoC. There is a stand-by viewing area for F! (for guests without FPs), but it's off to the side.

In terms of the 60th Celebration, they've added a new Parade (8:50 pm and 10:45 pm), a new fireworks show (9:30 pm), a new WoC (9:00 pm and 10:15 pm), and Diamond Mad T Party (6:00 pm to 10:00 pm). The timing of the parade, fireworks, and F! (9:00 pm and 10:45 pm) is set- up so guests view the fireworks from either where they watched the parade or F! (assuming they're watching the first showing of either). The first showing of the parade is very popular and I've seen guests sitting along the MS curb from early in the afternoon (it's not uncommon for guests to find a place to watch Soundsational and then stay there until after the first PtN)!

A Fantasmic FP gets you inside the ropes for a good view of the show, and in some cases, will allow you to sit during the show. There is very limited viewing capacity outside the ropes. See the following thread for details:

The line for PP prior to park closing will not likely be much shorter than at other times during the day. Your best bet to ride PP without a long wait is to be in the first wave of people to the ride at RD.

Oh wow I did not realize that F and the parade were at the same times. I think I would like to see the parade. Maybe the late one and then PP. Thank You!

You can see the early F!, stay for the FW in the F! viewing area which are immediately after, then go catch the late PTN parade.

I may try that plan. Im only iffy about F. Seems like a 9yo might still have a hard time seeing. Is Innovations open?

With only one day in the parks, personally I wouldn't take a 5 hour break, no matter how busy it is. In those 5 hours you'd still be able to knock out some headliner attractions or even more less popular attractions.
