Touring Help for IoA

I know that I'm going at a slow time, but I did want to plan our IoA day a little since I won't have the FOTL like on previous trips. I will be in Orlando in a week from tomorrow and plan to go to Universal on Monday, 2/9 and IoA on Wed, 2/11. It will be me with my 4yo son.

For the Studios I think I'll be ok as long as I hit Shrek first, then Jimmy Neutron, and then head over to MiB. I can then hit the kiddy stuff with Jake. He's 42" tall so he should be ok on everything at Universal.

For IoA I know that part of the park doesn't open until 10am. Would it be better to head to the Suess area first, then Spiderman or the other way around? I figured that if I went to Spiderman after the Suess area then I would be closer to Pteranadon Flyers and the other rides in that area when they open at 10. What do you experts think? Or does it really matter? What kind of waits are we talking for the rides later in the day during the slow season? Am I obsessing a little too much???

Your plan sounds fine although I would head for Spidey first in IOA

Pteranadon Flyers wasn't open this week. I hope it is open for you when you go. All rides were basically walk-ons this week. Is your holiday close to President's day? That might make the crowds a little bigger.

The USF plan is perfect.
For IOA, I also agree on hitting Spiderman first. Then Suess landing. It really won't matter. If you're there when the gate opens, you'll get the front section of the park done in no time, and then you can wait for the rope drop at 10am.

The park will be empty in the morning, but it will come to life in the afternoon with a small crowd.

I'll put Spidey first on my list, then Suess Landing. Hopefully Pteranadon Flyers will be open, but if not we can go there when we are back with the whole family in April. That ride really scares me, btw.

We'll be there the week before President's Day. Hopefully the crowds will wait until the Friday/Saturday to pick up and we'll be ok.

and never waited more than 10 minutes to get on anything (we didnt do Spiderman or Hulk - DS is too short). We did Shrek 4 times at different times of the day and never waited longer than until the next show started.

I wouldnt worry too much about timing for the rides - they should be pretty empty.

That's good that you didn't wait in line long. That really helps with young children. I hope my son enjoys Shrek--he's kind of a chicken for certain things. Last year he was tall enough to do Spiderman, but thought that he was really falling and that freaked him out. That influenced his perception of the other rides and was even scared on ET thinking that something horrible was going to happen to him. Hopefully he has matured a bit.

DS sat on my lap for Shrek so he missed the spiders which probably would have freaked him out. He also did want to wear the 3d glasses since the whole 3D thing bothered him. Without the glasses he loved it.

We will have already gone to Animal Kingdon so I'll see how Jake does at the 3-D show there. If he seems scared I'll put him on my lap for Shrek. Good tip--thanks.

Yes, it is similar except the seats move a lot in Shrek.
