Touring AKL?

My husband and I will be having breakfast on a Sunday morning in February at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We have never to AKL and we'd love to explore the resort itself.

We'll have our own car. Can we still get a 3 hour free parking pass from the attendant?

Will we be permitted to take a walk around the resort?

And if we are, could you please tell me what we should be sure to see?

If you have a Boma reservation, you can park there for free. Yes, you can walk around and enjoy the resort and the animals. There are lots of places to view the animals. You can get a pamplet of the animals they have from the concierge desk. Also, they have over 300 pieces of authentic African art on display.

Boma is on the ground floor. When you go into the lobby, go to the elevators on the right just past the gift shop and take the elevator to the bottom level. When the doors open, Boma will be on the left and Jiko on the right.

Enjoy your breakfast! That is our favorite meal on property. Have some grilled tomatoes for me!

I dont know if they will have the zebra domes in the desert section on the breakfast buffet. If not, go to The Mara, the quick service place and get some to go! As the other person said, it is pretty easy to find. It is to the right once you enter the lobby area. They do a great breakfast with traditional American food as well as some different African options. Enjoy!!!!!

Are there any other "must try" items on the Boma breakfast menu?

Don't know about breakfast, we've only done dinner! But it's a fantastic resort to walk around. At the end of the lobby there are stairs down to Arusha Rock Savanna viewing area. Great spot. Also has a fire pit and rocking chairs.
On the lobby level there are 2 porches on either side with rocking chairs to, with nice Savanna views. Walk around the pool, there is a flamingo area, and viewing area of a different savanna.

AKL also has a great gift shop.

We also like to go over to Kidani to get a good look at Sunset Savanna.
