I just woke up this morning to an e-mail from Tour Guide Mike with a promo code offering $3 off. Good until the end of the month, but there was a request that we did not publish the code on discussion boards... Sorry :(
If you sign up to his newsletter you may just get it too...:smooth:

So I signed up and :bounce: W O W! :bounce: This is the most fun to use vacation planner ever! It is not our first visit to WDW but this planner is far more than I expected! It is a guide that comes in handy even if you feel you know it all about Disney, because the resources are updated. And to know that it is updated faster and much more accurately than printed books is a great, big plus...

It is attractive, fun, colorful and user-friendly. What an ingenious way to put together a vacation planner! There is nothing like this anywhere else...

I absolutely love it.

Hi TreeOflife

Just thought I would mention that I got the same email from tourguidemike, and I think the code is only good for five days, until Jan 28th.
I know how you feel, it is such an amazing site it is almost overwhelming. I was just cleaning out my closet and found a whole bunch of guide books, including Unofficial guide 1999, wdw with kids 2003, and a frommers. Anybody who wants these free can send me a pm, and I will send them to you, postage due on delivery...well, they are heavy lol........
I hope you enjoy your tgm TreeofLife, he has so much stuff on his site, make sure you dont miss some of his best articles *Maximize your Magic Kingdom E-Night" (you know how every once in a while you come across someone who posts that they had a terrible time at e-night and you wonder if it is worth the extra expense.....he tells you what they did wrong and how you can easily avoid it and have a fantastic time!!)
*Maximize your Disney fast pass Opportunities" (this tells you exactly down to a science how to have 2 fast pass times at once and some other good stuff)
*The room assigner is your Friend" (he tells you the exact window of time to fax your request to the resort to maximize your chance of getting it to the room assigner and how to make your requests)
and of course, the be all and end all, best, worth the price of the guide alone..."all four theme parks best morning and nights..details"

Just thought I would mention that nobody has pm'd me for those guide books.....they are still available but note that I do live in Canada, so postage may cost almost as much as the price of the book......
Rileygirl

ps, I am not the most computer literate person out there (I am still trying to get that darn clock up Alice Sr, I have a few test messages on the tech board with no clock...how embarrassing....)so I am not sure I know exactly how to work the pm thing. If you have tried to pm and I have not responded, maybe just post a message on this thread. Thank you

Hi Rileygirl, I will take you up on the free guides if you still have them.. I am not going till Late 2004 but that is ok You can never have too much reading material.. Thanks Michelle

Hi Big Sister!

Ok, I am going to the post office tomorrow. I will mail them off to you then, and leave my name and address in an envelope in the package, you could maybe mail me back the postage?
I am sending 1999 unofficial guide, 2003 wdw with kids, Birnbaums 2002 and another book, the frommers I lent to a neighbour, I will probably get that one back. I know at last count I had nine guide books, I am keeping my passporters....nobody is getting that baby....so there are two missing in action, if I find them before tomorrow, I will include them in the package. (i will go look under my bed right now)
Enjoy!

Hi Big sis

Why, as a matter of fact I do have an eight year old daughter. She wears an eight slim, so I bet that would be perfect. Lets do a trade.....thank you so much!

Rileygirl:wave:

GREAT !!! consider them a bonus !! I have PM'd you my address incase you didn't get it the other day.. Michelle

Rileygirl,

See if you can mail them media (book) rate. Don't know if you could from Canada. Much cheaper since books are so heavy.

Thank you sleepy, I will check that out. Big Sis, I ran out the door this morning to mail those books, I was in a rush so I printed out this thread thinking your address was on that post and EEKS! it was not there, did not discover that till I was at the post office with my magic marker and brown paper. I wil now check my pm's and send that package off on Friday (tomorrow) The good news is that I found one more book, and the Birnenbaum's is 2003.

I may give TGM a try also! It sounds great. I too love my Passporter and after using it on our last trip I will always take on with me. For those of you who haven't read the Passporter Discount thread on this board, I learned that Amazon has the 2003 Passporter for $15.37 ( I ordered already) and Im going to use the $10 savings to buy TGM if I like it.

I hope you do. I requested a promo code weeks ago to try it out and absolutely love it!

You won't find a current, updated planning and information tool more fun to use.

Thanks to Mousesavers.com for bringing it up to our attention!

Hi all

Just to let you all know that I found a couple of whole new vaction planning catagories in tgm on Hotels. It does not show up in my automated "hotel schmotel", section, you can find it if you go up to the yellow bar called Vacation articles... I have posted the link here.

This is for the delux catagory of hotels
http://tourguidemike.com/articles/categoryDetails.asp?articlecategory_id=44

And this is for the moderate hotels
http://tourguidemike.com/articles/categoryDetails.asp?articlecategory_id=43

The one for Value is not up yet. Looks like about 20 articles comparing the pro's and con's of all those catagory hotels, and then a couple of articles on other stuff, like which moderate he recommends and why...or what to consider if you are waffling between moderate and delux....

Also, it may interest you that I got a mousesaver newsletter this morning and Mary had a nice little blurb on the current political situation and going to disney...Thank you Mary!

Hey big Sis, did you get your package yet?
Hey Treeoflife, after some considration perhaps Lady Macbeth fits the role a little better...

Lily's Dad,

LOL, yup I did just that STALK!!! Well first I decided how much I was willing to spend on tickets. That said I then looked to see what my local airport had flights to and if that included Sanford and Orlando. I then checked the 3 major airports in my area...Philadelphia, Newark and Allentown and what airlines flew in and out of there. I then went to each site and looked to see who had the best departure time/return time and price. I then went to Expedia.com and travelocity.com and signed up for fare watchers. I received emails when the price changed at all. After watching for about a week I found what was the basic price for all flights. Sanford had the best price for me out of Allentown,Pa at $133 round trip. Although Sanford is about 45 min away from WDW I found that I could rent a car for one way(returning it to Dolphin and doing a grocery stop for as long as needed) for a lot cheaper then a town car. One word of caution though....not all airlines fly out of all airports to MCO or SFB every day!!! Allentown only flew 4 days a week so I changed my ressies to reflect the flights. Also since I saved about $50 per ticket (best price out of PHL or EWR was $189) I was able to extend my stay for 2 more nights. I also booked my tickets 6 months in advance. I was very happy with what I paid and in all honesty I haven't looked to see what the prices are now. I just found out that Cirque tickets are A LOT cheaper now then when I bought them 5 months ago!!!!! I am also flying Souteast Airlines if that helps you at all. Best of luck to you!!!!!
