Tour Operator and Alamo?

Ok, so I booked a rental car and flight through NWA vacations. I did a prepay Alamo rental so that I did not have to worry about it. Well, I went to check-in online and it says "This reservation was booked by a Tour Operator. Please contact your Tour Operator for more information." What the heck does that mean? I cannot check in because I booked through a tour operator? I hope that is not the case because I think that is dumb. A car rental is a car rental is it not?

Can anyone shed some light on what this might mean? I called Alamo and the person first of all could not understand what I was saying, but all he said was to call my travel agent. He did not offer to look at the reservation or even explain what this means. Nice!

I just called again and this person told me you can only check in 24 hours before. Is this correct? I heard it was 30 days. I told him that I thought it was 30 days and he said no. What is the rule?

Usually only 24 hours in advance - just like airlines.
