Has anyone ever used this? Is it worth it? We will be reading guidebooks and the like, but our trip is in a month.

Let me know your thoughts. I hope this is an ok thread to start.

Take care,

Eric

Eric, love your tag. You'll find lots of differing opinions about Tour Guide Mike on these boards. I am a subscriber who has not yet gone on the trip. Even though I've been to WDW many, many times before, I am still finding new and useful information on his site. You will need to dedicate some reading time if you want to get the full benefit of everything he has to offer. I definitely think you would be able to develop a plan within the month. I figure my time is worth more than the $18.95 I spent on the site...and even if I save an hour of waiting in line for ANYTHING, it's money well spent.

That being said...DON'T expect Tour Guide Mike to give you a step-by-step instruction on which attractions to go to. He makes recommendations as to what rides need to be done first, ones that can wait until later, and the like. The actual customization comes from you.

Whatever you decide, I wish you luck and a great trip!

I believe TGM is worth the money even if you are only a month away from your trip. If you decide to join, you'll want to spend some valuable time between now and your trip on his site because he can provide up to date information that guidebooks already in priont cannot.

I've been to WDW 20 times and I think it's worth it. There are so many little things that are valuable tips. There are big things that are even better tips.

You will need to invest the time though. You can't just pay the money and have a week-long itinerary jump out at you. :)

As QT Pooh said, TGM won't tell you what to do minute by minute, but will give you great information on 'when to do' whatever it is you want to do.

Best regards,
Mav

If you know the UG inside and out, TGM provides some nice additional information.

If you don't REALLY know the UG, I would spend your time with the UG, rather than trying to navigate TGM.

Don't get me wrong, there's good info in the TGM site, and I am a subscriber, but for basic planning, the UG is better.

Also do a search of tourguidemike for other folks opinions. There have been some long threads.

I agree. I found that the UG gave me a good base and TGM added to that with some valuable facts. It I were to just choose one, it would be UG.

We used TGM for the first time with our Oct trip and the advice was right on. You do need to do your homework and really think about what you want to accomplish on your trip. This time it was just my DH and I so we wanted to do some different things that we didn't get to do when the kids were small, and I used the advice given for adult trips...we never waited more than 10 minutes for ANYTHING! But you do need to devote some time to the site and in my opinion it was worth it....but I also love reading these boards and get lots of helpful stuff here as well... :earsgirl:

We used TourGuideMike last week (Jersey Week). By all reports the parks were very crowded. Our longest wait for a ride all week was about ten minutes using FP's at the safari in AK. We 0-5 minute waits (mostly ride loading time) for just about everything.
