Tour Guide Mike

and actually was going to request my $$ back after the 1st couple of days. But as he states, it says to take time to navigate and check out the site because there is so much information. I found a lot that I didn't know, and feel as if my money was well spent.

The Other Hand....

The site is VERY hard to navigate. I am not an IT admin. but can navigate very well IMHO. There is a lot of info. and I think the entire site needs a complete "once over." With all the info. I compiled and prepared, it took several hours to find the info. I was looking for.

Try it for yourself, there is a $$ back guarantee.
just my .02 worth.. :wave2:

I had trouble with navigating TGM's site at first. Mike gives a lot of firsthand touring advice.

But, I have to admit, if you want any questions answered about WDW, the DIS Discussion Forums is the right place. The people here usually have the answer to any question you may have.

What's wrong with pool hopping?
Very nice :rotfl:

I have another little analogy (not that anyone is still following this thread).. This is like moms/dads discussing the merits of a do-it-yourself birthday party vs. Chuck E Cheese while at someone's do-it-yourself party. Otherwise a perfectly fine discussion, until the host/helper/kids hear the topic and at that point it doesn't matter what exactly was being said.

Everyone should chew on this little tidbit before getting all sanctimonious and posting some churlish message decrying the publicizing of a competing pay site (e.g., TGM) while here on the Noble DIS: I had never even heard about the DIS until I saw it recommendend in the first copy that I ever read of the Unofficial Guide (a book that, I assure you, I did have to pay real money for).

I wish I knew why TGM always causes a flame war or at least a debate. For some reason, using whatever tools help you enjoy a vacation, distresses others. If it helps you, go for it. If not, don't waste your time and money.

For me, the logic he sets forth is far more useful than a regimented plan of attack in the UG. For you, I would expect you could learn something new, and it might help you in that especially busy time. Other people think they have nothing to learn (or at least not enough to justify $18 with a discount code.) While I feel they are mistaken, there is no reason to fight them. I just want them to have a great vacation, however they plan for it. Here's hoping your trip is magical. :wizard:

Welcome to the DIS! :grouphug:

Ken, you are a lifeguard in this pool of "you know what."

And Jeff, your posts are good, too.

;)

And why don't people ever use the search function? There are a ton of threads on Tourguide MiKE slinging the same info ad nauseam. :earseek:

FYI. I subscribed to Tour Guide Mike and his info. seems like it will be very helpful to my family :). I'm sorry to say that I have looked on the DIS boards for at least a year and have been very discouraged with some of the responses that you people posted. My intentions were to get a few opinions and not to get scolded . Some of the posts were nice and one of the nice posts suggested that I give a small pat on the back once in a while over at TGM. However, to all of you felt my question was wrong, how would I be able to do that now :confused3? That is a good idea and I would have done it but I don't know about now because it only takes a few bad apples, right?! So, thanks to those of you who were thoughtful and conisderate and gave your helpful advice.

I just don't understand all these negative responses about TGM. The OP asked a simple question about opinions on TGM. What is the problem with asking this question? Where else would you ask a question about something Disney related but on a Disney related board? Noone gets flamed when they ask about a certain tour guide book that has to be paid for. People post whether they like the book or not. Noone flames them and says..."Why by the tourguide when you can get the info for free on the DIS".

I am a subscriber on TGM. I have found lots of info. on his site that I haven't seen on the DIS or other disney sites. I use both TGM and the DIS site. They both have been very helpful. If everyone was finding all the info they needed from the DIS then why would they even consider something else? Obviously they are not finding what they need on the DIS alone. There is nothing wrong with getting all the info. you can and sorting through it to find what works best for you. Why does it bother some of you that someone is willing to pay for information?

Let's not get our hackles up. Many of the TGM people frequent the DIS as well. People ask about whether TGM is good or not because it is a pay site. Why would someone ask if they should go onto the DIS when it is free?

Can't we all just get along? :goodvibes

Ann
