Tour Guide Mike
TGM absolutely tells you how to tour the parks. He will say in which order the rides, attractions, etc, should be done. The advice will depend on what month you are going to WDW. Mike also has sample tours based on the ages of those in your group,ex. with young kids. We followed his sample tour plans last year during Memorial Day weekend through June 6 and our longest wait
was 5-10 minutes! We're going back @ the same time this year and have resubscribed. I love that MIke is @ the parks almost daily and can give up to the minute advice!
Julie,
We'll be there during the same time as you (May 27- June3). I'd be really interested in seeing your itinerary and any preliminary touring plans for this coming trip. Especially if it results in maximum waits of 10 minutes. I know you can't share your TGM touring plans here on teh DIS but you can post them on the TGM site or PM me on that site (if you don't mind) my user name is the same on TGM as here (mamiamjo)

Thanks,
Mike

Did you at least get your money back? He does offer the money back guarantee...so, you shouldn't worry about wasting money. If you don't like it, you will get your money back.

I agree with the positive posters...

Speed :teleport:

I sent an email and nicely explained that the site wasn't what I expected, yadda, yadda, yadda...I asked if I would be eligible for a refund. The next day I received a kind reply :

I am sorry you were disappointed with your purchase, and I am happy to refund your money as promised in our satisfaction guarantee. Your credit card has been refunded in full, and your email address has been removed from our records. You should see the credit in 2 to 3 business days.

I wish you a wonderful, memorable, magical vacation to Walt Disney World!

So, I would say if you are on the fence, go ahead and try it. Getting a refund when I realized it isn't a tool I will use, was very easy.

It is different. and I dont think I can use TGM well enough, maybe its the way its laid out, maybe its that I cant spend enough "quality" time on the site. I've just joined, so I know I have a ways to go to figure out if it will help me.

I also use touringplans.com and really liked that - I like that I get email responses from Len, I also found it a great companion to the Unoffical Guide tho, so with that in mind, I think that is what is confusing me...

If TGM had a companion book for me to refer too, unfortunately that would defeat the 'current' info that I believe is what is the major selling point to TGM. I was also surprised that TGM doesnt respond to posts, but then again, that's "My" impression, and "my" MIS impression - he is in the parks *duh me!!

I also feel I "miss" some things, that I need to spend time there instead of here!! :)

If you find TGM site overwhelming. It just contains so much info that if you don't take it "step by step" like it tells you at the start and just skip around you certainly can get lost. The total answer is: take it step by step, then check out all the links.
The site is being upgraded and a newly simplified format will be introduced when ready.
The most wonderful thing about the site is that the information is being updated constantly and does not become outdated.
Anyone having navigation problems or questions. Please post them on the TGM forums and you will receive quick knowledgeable responses and answers.
Don't expect to sign up and have a plan immediately printed out for you.
Can't work that way as each individual situation requires different plans.
But after multiple trips using TGM I know it works.

That was another problem with TGM. Certainly his information was more current than the print books, but he was consistantly later with information than the free info on allearsnet, or the info on wdwinfo, or the info here, or the WDW website or..... By about three days. Not a huge deal, but it was a little annoying that they guy I was paying was providing less timely information than I could get for free.

I just flipped over to TGM to see what all the hub was about.
I have never used his site, but it does sound intriguing. The one thing I wish he would do is give a little taste of what you are getting......For example "hit peter pan between the hours of 11:00 and 12:00 because that is when most parents change their babies"(obviously, thats not true but I would like a little taste of something before I buy)

The whole thing with the money back guarantee is great, and people should not be lazy and should get their money back....but most companies know that people won't ask for their money back. Its the reason why you see all those rebates at major stores where you can get a $25 item for free if you send in the rebate. The majority of people forget to send in the rebate or after 8 weeks forget they were supposed to receive it and never call.

There may be people who were not totally satisfied, but how many people will come back from Disney so angered that they did not have a great trip and demand their money back???
