Tour Guide Mike - Where did he go????

I just joined Tour Guide Mike based on all the recommendations from this board. I am thrilled with all of the great info since I love to read about Disney. I was having a great time putting together my vacation. Today I tried to access the site several times and no luck ----- is the site just down - where did he go?

Michael e-mailed me this morning and said the site would be down for awhile today for maintenance... they picked a Sunday because they get the fewest visitors on that day.

Hopefully won't be TOO long!

Glad to hear it. I, too, was a little concerned, having just joined last week. I am really enjoying the site although am having a little trouble putting everything together in a nice little package. It would be nice if you could assemble your itineraries and info online instead of writing things down, printing and/or cut and pasting them. There is definitely a learning curve on gleaning all the info that Mike has to offer.

I am so glad you are loving your tgm....welcome to the club!!!! Just to let you know, the site was down the majority of sunday, but dont' expect that to be a frequent occurance. Michael said he expected it to be down just for and hour or two for maintenance, early sunday morning when there are generally hardly any users ... but unfortunately, the computer programers had problems loading the home page back up....and that shut down tgm for the whole day!!!!
When you next log on, check out your calander clipboard for March, he has just updated it and it shows all the closures and refurbs that will effect your stay.
I am with you johnpaul, I have been doing plenty of cutting and pasting too! I wish tgm would come out with a guide book to compliment his site!!! But then, how could he keep it as current as his site?

Dahess-I've been using tgm for a couple of weeks, it's a good site, informative, but I haven't come across information I haven't seen yet in guidebooks, the DIS or other sites for example times to avoid visiting parks, when to make PS, etc. (don't want to be too specific because we as tmg registered users are asked to not provide information to boards etc. which is understandable). I've read quite a bit of the articles on tgm pertaining to resorts, parks, dining and tips and there is alot of information. It is nice to have everything in one spot I just think it depends on if you would rather use a guidebook or an online tool.
