I hate spiders and might scream really loudly (don't think I would jump up and run but who knows) if one came in my face or thought one was running up my leg, down my back, what ever. i just know it would not be a pretty picture. did fine at honey i shrunk but not afraid of rodents....what is the actual opinion of the AK show considering the above mentioned confession. ( the little icon under my name is meant to be ironic definitly does not represent my normal reaction!) Thanks

Hi Jann!

Welcome! Listen, from one bug scardy-cat to another, don't even sweat the IT'S TOUGH TO BE A BUG show. :p I don't like anything running up and down my legs, or anywhere on my body, but the only time you will feel bugs is when they run under your bottom at the end of the show when they ask all bugs to exit first! It's the cutest thing. :D Also, you may be "lucky" enough to be sitting in the seat that has the sticky thing that comes out of the seat and pokes you in the back. I warned DH about it and I knew exactly when to sit up so it didn't get us the year we went. It did get me the year before as my sister "forgot" to tell me. You'll do fine don't worry. If it becomes too much for you, just remove the 3-D glasses, you're gonna have a blast!

Hi Jann!

I hate spiders too... would definitely scream, jump and panic if I thought one was on me in anyway. The spiders in ITTBAB come down from the ceiling but don't get really close to you or anything like that. They are also very big and it's very obvious they're not real. And, the best part, they're only there for a few seconds. I was worried when I heard all the reports about them, but I managed fine. You can always close your eyes if it makes you too jumpy!

thanks ,I hadn't even thought about it till i read a few posts about little kids crying and such. my daughter(26!) was one of the not so little ones freaking out at alien encounter just a few years ago...guess it runs in the family!

you are probably talking to one of the world's biggest bug phobics & I SURVIVED it's Tough to be a Bug!!!!

Go and have fun & just keep telling yourself, it is only make believe ;)

I can't handle spiders at all. They totally freak me out. ITTBAB was great fun, and believe me, if there were any serious spider problems in there, I'd let ya know.;)

The bugs in the show are all cartoon bugs except for the Black Widows that come down out of the ceiling in the fog. It is a very cool (literally) moment during the show and is one of the most dynamic moments in any Disney show. Because they are so big it is not so scary. If they had done this scene with hundreds of little spiders I think the effect would have been more frightening.

I'm not scared of spiders - will pick up half-inch ones in my hands and catch the rest in a pint glass to save them from my cats - and to save my DH and DS from the spiders. However ITTBAB spooked me, not because of the spiders, but because of the the flying things and the crawly things in the seat!

Sit on something - possibly someone else's lap ;) - and maybe sit at the back to reduce the intensity. It really is a good show, and well worth seeing.

BTW I wouldn't do Alien Encounter for a free AP, and even the sound of a leopard growling in my ear in the listening booths at Conservation Station freaked me out, so maybe I'm just over imaginitive. :)

ediew, you gave me the creeps just reading about the bare handed bit! maybe since I now know a little of what's coming I'll enjoy it instead of being paranoid the whole time. I'd hate to miss it !
