Hi!

I have been reading a lot of your posts about the Cannon (S3-IS) vs. the Fuji (6000), and realize that you all prefer these two cameras above most others.... but what I am looking for may not be either of those two because what I need is:

a SMALL camera (think fanny pack  )

that is QUICK between shots (think two year old who doesn't pay attention :headache: )

that I can be TOUGH with (think thow and go :upsidedow )

See, I just thow things into a bag and off I go.... so anything that isn't tough isn't for me. My kids are little, and don't take direction very well ;) so, I would like a camera that re-sets quickly between shots. I still use film, because the CHEAP crappy digital I got takes too long between takes. I feel bad standing in line for characters WAITING to be able to take another shot because I can see that the pic was terrible.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I think from my post, you can tell, I know NOTHING about cameras, and the easier to use, the better too! (as I have the best of intentions of reading the manual, but I doubt it will ever be done:confused3 :rotfl2: )

I am not sure on the Fuji line(which might do better low light shots), but for Canon you want to look at the SD line. Be aware that no digital camera is that tough, so if you are rough on it, it will eventually break. You should at least have a seperate place in your purse to put it, but better would be to have a small case that fits in your purse.

I have the Canon PS A400. Works fine for me as far as p&s camaras go.

I it appears that there are only really two manufacturers of cameras on this forum but I have to be the outsider and say that as an owner of one of the casio exilim cameras I think that thes might be something for you to look at. They are quick to start up and quick between pictures and they even have multishot settings that all three pics in a second. they are small enough to put in a purse or pocket with a case. hope it helps and as is said before its all about finding the camera that you like not what everyone else recommends

The Olympus Stylus 770 SW is waterproof and shockproof. I think they claim that it can be dropped from 5 feet. It's pretty small. It's not all that fast between shots though.

Fuji had the F31 which has the same sensor as the S6000fd, it's about $200 after rebate and is the usual slim/flat compact digital camera, only with a bigger sensor than most others.

If you're looking for a pocket camera, the S6000fd and S3 are definitely not for you! :)
