My trip is in less than two weeks; today I received an email from my guide, mentioning the reception at the TOTW lounge. The link for more information was dead. I understand what the event is, but can anyone provide details on what times it has been held lately?

I went this past Friday. They had a number of people - you have to provide your own/use regular Disney transport to get to BLT. It starts at 1pm but they ask you to get there about 30 minutes early.

We were given a DVC member pin (birthday style) and a sticker with a character on it when we arrived. We were then taken upstairs in groups and when we walked into the lounge they gave us a bag with a DVC notebook, a pen, 2 lanyards, and a point brochure. We were invited to find a place to sit down and help ourselves to food and drink- they had chocolate covered cheesecake sticks and about 5 different kinds of finger sandwiches as well as lemonade, water, ice tea, hot water (with hot chocolate and tea bags), and coffee.

After everyone came upstais, they had 1 adult from each group stand up front and choose 4 people to be experts for the trivia questions. They then used the cards we had filled out to pull our names and ask us questions about DVC/Disney stuff and if we were not sure of the answer we could call on anyone on the panel. Once they gave away all the stuff they had- they put all the names back in for a drwing for a $100 gift card. (The other stuff was little booklets, luggage tags, braclets, ect(I didn't in anything).

After that was finished (the guide was telling us about DVC as he was goiung through the trvia and we saw a couple of videos). We could choose to meet with a guide to get specail pricing for add-ons or tour BLT rooms. After we finished the tour we would be able to meet with reps/or if we met with guides first then we would take the tour afterwards. They had some rooms on the first floor open to tour and they had at least a 1 bedroom that is specifically set-up for guides to meet with people in a few different areas.

When yiu were finished you were given fastpass cards for your party.

They did give our coloring books and crayons to the children who came.

We did the tour on Sunday 6/13 at 1 PM.

We thought the presentation was a little slow, but it wasn't horrible. They were really pushing DL and DCL, neither of which particularly interest us. As soon as they were finished talking I told them I wanted to talk to someone about an add-on NOW. We had already been there over an hour and I was ready to cut to the chase.

Our DS14 elected to go to the Community Hall to play games but I don't think he expected to be there all afternoon.

We got DS before we met with the guide so he wouldn't think we abandoned him. We confirmed what we wanted to do, then set an appointment to meet with our regular guide at SSR to do documents another day. After that we were able to blow through the BLT models on our own.

The special FastPasses are awesome, but be warned they are NOT valid for four days AFTER you get them. They are valid for the day of issue plus 3 more days. We found that out the hard way. Guest Relations at MGM were really nice and gave us some substitute FPs, but I was beyond irritated that the card wouldn't work on the 4th day after issue.

The tours must be generating sales or they wouldn't be doing them. Seems like they have touched all the bases, feed people food and give them free stuff and they are in a good mood to buy. :goodvibes

The special price offerings for add ons are impressive. We mostly went to see the resort, but the fast passes were a big plus too. I'd be in favor of one of those "special" passes being given out to each m ember in a party as a perk at check in to DVC resorts. IT's the best perk since the AP discount!;)

Thank you for all the replies. We did the "Vacation As You Wish" (I believe that was the name) last July; I am pretty familiar with the process. Not too happy about it being at 1 p.m. this time around though - that's prime resting time for my guys. But those fast passes, oh the things I'll subject my family to for those fast passes . . .

So, is this only for those who don't own at BLT already?

It seems like the dude leading the presentation asked if anyone there owned at BLT, so I think it is for all members. They had incentives for add-ons at BLT and AKV. I am sure there was something about VGC, too, because they are really emphasizing that it is almost sold out. We went in knowing we wanted to add at AKV, but of course that part comes at the VERRRRY end. ;)

We would have just called our guide and had him do our documents, but I wanted to see if the incentives for the tour were better than what we would get otherwise. For us, the American Airlines gift card would have been a better deal, BUT you have to make 9 payments before they will send the gift card. We'll have our airfare booked for next year before we make 9 payments, so we decided to just go with the "dollar off" deal.

Are there any activities for kids during the presentation? We have a 9 & 13 year old and they would probably be fine with their i-pods but it I'm just curious. Thanks!
