Totally random - how like your sig are you?

Well....I'm pretty sure my avatar fits my name. :earboy2: As for my sig. Yeah I think it fits me. I like trying to make people laugh or atleast crack a smile. So I made that siggy in hopes of doing such. :teeth:

I'm brilliantly deducing the above is aimed at the photo in my sig. Since I added that picture (used to have a shot of BWV) I have learned that a lot less people know about Off Kilter than I thought would. I've been pm'd by a number of people asking about the shot. One person thought it was my family, I liked that one best.

I wouldn't expect it anywhere else, but since this is a DIS board I guess I (wrongly) figured everyone would know the picture is of a TERRIFIC band that plays outside the Canadian Pavilion at Epcot. The name of the Band is (as above) Off Kilter (OK). They have a unique sound, what they call Celtic Rock--traditional Irish songs with a rock twist. Their version of Danny Boy is not to be missed IMHO. OK also plays standard rock tunes, and if you haven't heard Johnny B Goode on the bagpipes you ain't heard nuthin' yet! :teeth:
OK usually plays sun-thurs 230 330 530 630 & 730, shows are 30 minutes long. Oh, and besides all of them being amazing musicians they are really funny as well. Definitely worth a look if you've never seen them. Obviously taste in music is subjective, but if you've never heard them I recommend giving them a try.

As for my screen name and how it's like me--I guess it goes without saying, it's definitely me. I'd rather be in WDW, especially watching Off Kilter.

Your powers of deduction are brilliant! Yes it was you. And now that you say this is Off Kilter, I am, frankly, a little embarrassed. If I'd thought about that I should have known that was likely. I haven't ever seen them since my kids are little and they'd much rather be "ridin' things, Mom!", but I've heard such great reports that I wanted to catch them the next time we were there.

And here I had such ideas about what that could be! Maybe your whole family did a tribute to St. Patrick's day! Maybe it was a bagpipers convention! Maybe you just like to dress the same and thought this would be a good way to get a little extra attention! Ah, sometimes the mystery is more intriguing. But now I know I'd like to look at them too, as well as hear them. ;)

Pretty boring here: such is my life.
My screen name is a combo of my favorite university - La. State University - and my favorite disney character - Tigger. LSU's mascot is the tiger - Tigers - Tiggers pretty close!! Got my avatar long time ago.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Love reading everyone else's! :flower: :flower: :flower:

My signature/tags are full and cluttered just like my life...

And my Sig contains a link to the biggest thing going on in my life right now..... the construction of our house.

Nothing like me, I couldn't think of anything else original at the time and it was my first time belonging to a forum. Its a term they used locally to describe the fishermen - they would get a blue nose fishing in the winter - hence the term bluenoser. The avatar was the first one that caught my eye - reminded me of one of a tissue/toilet paper commercial can't remember which one. The avatar's like me after about four large Tim's coffee, so the jumping part fits. I feel so boring . . .when I read everyone else's.

There are 3 of us and friends and family act like we are nuts for going to Disney so much. So I took this name and embraced it. My inlaws are just like us. Dhs family all love Disney it is mainly our friends and my family that do the eye roll or say "Again? take a break." when we say we are going. The avitar I just liked :)

I have always had a "thing" for rodents. Favorite toy as a tot was a rubber mousie. Wanted a hamster for my 9th birthday -- but Mom (highly rodent-phobic) got me a bird instead. Rats. Favorite animals at the zoo -- the prarie dogs. Love 'em. Maybe that's why I don't find anything wrong with Walt's obsession with a mouse! What's not to love?

And in keeping with that, I always loved Gopher from the Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh (when Pooh gets stuck in Rabbit's house). Maybe it was his cute gopheresque lisp. Maybe it was his waddle. Who knows. When we moved to WV, I was thrilled to see all the groundhogs -- I love those little varmints. I pass a huge field of them every day on my way to work. SOmetimes, on the weekends, I actually drive my kids over to the field so they can see them out in the field, too! We currently have no hamsters (or gophers, or groundhogs...) in our house, BUT -- we do have 2 head of pig (guinea that is) and one rabbit! And when I see those two guinea pig faces looking at me, whistling, and then chomping down whatever snack I give them in their methodical chew-chew-happy way, all I can think of is,

"Sssssummer sssssssquash!"

My pediatrician has a major fortune invested in Disney. He has every beanie ever sold hanging from his office ceilings. He has the snowglobes, the plate collections, boxed pin sets. He just bought flat screens for each of the 3 waiting/exam rooms so that there is a Disney movie playing in every room! And most of all, he has row after row of stuffed animals -- little to huge, from every movie imaginable, and even park critters like Figment too.

BUT...

That man DID NOT HAVE A GOPHER.

Perish the thought -- NO GOPHER.

My dd (age 2 at the time) was in his office one day and she determined, "Mommy, he's got no Gopher..." I thought, nah, can't be -- we visually cased the joint, but sure enough, no Gopher. So we questioned him about it, and he looked at me, blinked and said,

"Gopher? Who's that? Is he Disney?"

I stared back incredulously and said in my most Gopheresque voice, "Sssssay! You should do sssomething about that sssspeech impediment, Sssssonny!" He looked at me like I was one taco short of a combo platter. The doc was gopher-clueless. So when we went to WDW last year, we pit-stopped into Once Upon a Toy, just to buy a Gopher for doc! When I took it to the counter to pay, the clerk looks at me and says, with a totally straight face,

"He's not in the book, you know."

My response (equally straight-faced): "And come to think of it, he's mighty glad of it!"

We both had a laugh off of that -- the kind of dialogue only gopher fans would know or appreciate, I guess! (And ironic too because Gopher really ISN'T in the book, either -- he's a Disney add-in). My kids now get a kick out of visiting the doc's office and trying to find Gopher amidst all the other animals, but it isn't that hard to find him -- he's always sitting right out front, on the corner as you pass the desk, right where someone who's "not in the book" ought to be. ;)

And that's probably more about me and gopher than you EVER WANTED TO KNOW!

As for my photo in my sig -- fairly self-explanatory. That's us at Animal Kingdom from Aug 2004. I loved those shots because that was a day we took as just the 5 of us, the last day of an excellent 13 day trip. My OHANA mean everything to me!

wtpclc That is so funny I am a huge hockey fan as is my wife she is a RED WINGS fan well more a Stevie Y fan.

From Ontario, make sense. Alas, I think we've seen our Captain don the jersey for the last time. I came into my love for hockey about the time he started. Hockey just won't be the same.

To remain on topic. You cannot imagine my joy when I saw my two loves (Disney and the Wings) as the very last statue as I entered the MK!

Hey no need to be embarassed in the least, you're far from alone if the pm's I've gotten are good evidence. Since they've been there since the late 90's I was surprised so many people are unaware, or only vaguely aware of Off Kilter. But it's probably for the exact reason you mention- the majority of young children prefer the rides to the other attractions at WDW.

I liked all your guesses, maybe next time we all WILL go in Kilts to get the extra attention! :goodvibes And BTW the band actually DOES go to bagpiper conventions (actually celtic festivals) outside of WDW, but so far none close enough for me to attend.

P.S. I hope you do check them out next trip, and that you find them as talented and funny as I do! :cheer2:

And, nothing to do with the thread, but my husband went to grad school on Long Island and we lived there for five years (I commuted in and went to grad school in Manhattan) before moving here. So howdy, neighbor, kind of!

Well, my avatar tells you I am a die hard Twins fan and season ticket holder. My siggy tells you how much I love OKW! I really should put a log home picture somewhere too.

Yes, I'm actually quite like my avatar (I'm a lot Willy Wonka, with some Don Quixote, Han Solo (says DW) and Gomez Addams mixed in). My signature used to be a WW quote or two ("A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men" or "Little surprises around every corner, but nothing dangerous") until I got the "Wonderfalls" DVD - an existential but oddly enchanting TV show that didn't survive...

Be well!

So much time, so little to do. Wait. Strike that. Reverse it.

Well, my avatar was suppose to be temporary. I put it up after making it to the 250,000 point question at WWTBASMPI at MGM. (I missed the question)

Then the boards changed over and the custom Avatar feature was no longer available, so I decided just to leave it up there instead of going to one of the 'canned' avatars. Since I'm a very tech oriented person, it still kind of 'fits'

Screen name comes from my name (Bill) and where I use to work (I'm now retired).

For those who have said they don't know how to get an avatar, it's simple:
Click on UserCP
Select Edit Avatar
Pick something from the 121 (5-pages) of standard Avatars
Click Save Changes

For those who have asked about putting a photo into your signature, go to the Tech Boards and check out the links in the FAQ 'sticky' thread.

And no, Caskbill did not work at a winery....

The phrase in my signature line below is actually one created by my daughter when in high school who expressed it as her thoughts on high school. I believe it fits a lot of things we generally endure in everyday life. Also, the reverse of my screen name is often how I view many of the ongoings in the world.

Ohkay,
My name translates to Guitarist for life. Pretty self explanatory to most and easily understood by any fellow fret mashers 
My tags are also self explanatory except for the last one which USED TO BE cut off.
Supe is supposed to continue to say super planner. Oh well, keep em guessing. NOT ANY MORE IT's BEEN FIXED... Thanks tag fairy!

My avatar – a reflection of me, sometimes getting in over my head (either of my own doing or as the result of trying to help others) and trying to look for a solution

My signatures
“Choose Wisely” Simple knowledge that the secret of life (more often than not, fate and tragedy notwithstanding) is choices and consequences, despite what many in our “blame someone else” society would have you think.

Remember who you really are. – You’re connected. Just a reminder to Be Happy, Be aware, be kind. Kinda sappy, but what the hey, that’s why I’m a huge Disney fan.

Also, thanks to Gopherit for the excellent scoop/anecdotes on Gopher

Peace,

HBC...FABER COLLEGE was founded in 1904 by Emil Faber, philanthropist, father of the modern American lead pencil and brother of Germany's Eberhard Faber. The campus, nestled in Pennsylvania's beautiful Saquatashog river valley, was once the site of the original Faber Pencil Works. The pencil mill was built in Faber because of the town's happy proximity to a natural graphite quarry, forests of virgin pencilwood trees, and plentiful wild eraser-root.
As the vogue for lead pencils grew, Emil Faber prospered. Now rich and powerful, he still regretted never having received a college diploma. Thus he funded the construction of FABER COLLEGE in the town he founded, and was soon granted an honorary doctorate in education from the college which, then as now, bears his name, Faber.

Howdy right back atcha! I have never been to OH but I am trying! I want to go with my 19 year old to go to Cleveland to see the R&R Hall of Fame, but we never seem to get the timing right. One thing or another has prevented us, but I do look forward to going someday.
Thanks for the hello! :goodvibes
