Totally Gutted :(

Our flight to Copenhagen were less than £150 and there are cruises out of Dover. We saved £ by not having to fly three of us to the US to grab a Disney Cruise. We are also very happy with category 10.

There is always a way to manage something.

The parks are really expensive. My husband and I usually limit park days to 1 or 2 (park hopper) and try to fit them all in those days (focussing on priorities)... There are so much free sites to visit in WDW (Disney Springs, All the resorts) and cheaper activities (mini-golf, waterparks)...

Also, don't forget you can also do back-to-back cruises, add a 3 night or 4 night cruise to a longer cruise instead of going to WDW.

+ like others said, there is much to see and to do in Orlando. You can find hotels at all prices and different Theme Parks (Universal is awesome!).

You may find something better in the end. Just take some time to think about it and look at what your options are.

Even if you decide to go to a WDW resort, you could just spend time at the resort itself, not go to the parks. I know, that'd be hard, but still...

You could also try to see what a lower category would cost. May save you lots of money....like an inside instead of an oceanview.

If he's sailing on the Fantasy or Dream the price difference is minimal. On the Wonder or Magic it's huge. I have no idea why that is. I can only assume it's the magical portholes.

You could also save money by sailing in an inside stateroom. We've sailed inside on two Disney cruises and loved each one.

I booked an inside room on our upcoming Alaska cruise 'gasp'. I know it's totally unacceptable to sail to Alaska in a inside room.

It has to do with the ratios of inside rooms to verandas. On the Magic and Wonder, there are 256 inside staterooms and 362 veranda rooms. On the Fantasy and Dream, there are 150 inside staterooms and 901 veranda rooms. So because the Dream and Fantasy have a much bigger supply of veranda rooms, the price difference from inside to veranda is less than on the Magic and Wonder..

Consider another cruise line- honestly - we loved our Royal cruises as much as our cruise on the Fantasy

If I were looking to cut costs, the first place I'd look is my stateroom choice. Then the post-cruise hotel/parks. We stay at an off-site Condo, but we drive there so we don't have to rent a car or anything. We love going through windsorhillsrent.net to find the best rate and look/review!

Good Luck!

God am looking at staying at hilton universal for 4 nights with Hilton points and 7 night western cruise again instead of eastern and it's coming in thousands cheaper

Remember that if you stay onsite at Universal you get at least early entrance to one or both Wizarding Worlds each day. Stay at one of the deluxes and you get that and Unlimited Express Pass (and almost all rides participate in that, though not Forbidden Journey, Hogwarts Express, and Gringott's, along with one or two non-HP rides). I know it's not a way to use your Hilton points, but it can be WELL worth it. And then you don't have to deal with transportation to the parks, if you're going to Universal in order to go to the parks.

Yeah are the 5 nights are the parks necessary? I mean, that's a huge chuck of money right there. If you really want to do the cruise, just skip the parks and it cuts the budget down by a significant amount I would think.

I think they are trying to get more bang for their flying buck, if that makes any sense. :)

If it were unacceptable they would just block off the inside staterooms for Alaska cruises. :)

This is true it was about 110 dollars of a difference

I think you are looking at your options correctly, for what it's worth. My daughter, who worked at WDW and still loves the Disney parks, really loves Universal Orlando. It is an excellent experience and unique. Picking a hotel to stay on points is an excellent choice as well.

We really liked our Western Caribbean but we thought Eastern was better. However, if Western makes the budget work, don't shy away from it.

The thing about other cruise lines is very real. Thousands cheaper. Royal Caribbean offers a very unique experience with Oasis and Allure in particular.

Yeah I see no they were cheaper but if we are leaving Disney parks then would of been nice to do something Disney. But yeah it is very costly and by time you add drinks, excurions palo etc it's a lot of money
