Me and my partner recently come back from a western carribean cruise in Feb and got our place holder all ready to go for my 30th bday in Nov, Dec next year, what ever the cheapest was, in fact my partner was going to take her mum with her to and we were going to go halfs with the over all bill

Well as we no prices have just come out and the discount of the place holder is more than what they have gone up

We were going to do a weeks cruise and 5 days in the parks And with airfare staying in a oceon view stateroom and a budget Disney hotel, with spending its coming to £9350 pounds which is over $11000 dollars God that is crazy money to us

I no I have the option to do a 4 day cruise but it's pointless when we are from Scotland and airfare is so deer for such a short time and still very deer

I feel now for all the people that have been priced out as we are the same now

So it looks now like we are doing a week all ins or 4 nights in Disney paris to get a wee Disney buzz at least

I have looked at other cruise line prices and I just feel so disappointed that they keep charging more and more

Sadly I now need to make the call to cancel our booking and place holder, oh well what a crap day, bye bye dcl

I'm sorry to hear this but don't cancel the place holder just yet. We did that once and totally regretted it. Give it a little bit of time to digest and check other options before canceling the place holder.

Sadly all the cruises are now out from now till when the place holder ends and there all way to deer

Really don't want to cancel but it's thousands over our budget now

I'll need to cancel and listen to all the dcl hold music to rub it in. Thanks Disney but this is not a magical day :(

I too would wait on cancelling your placeholder. Right now you are, understandably upset by the cost of the trip you were planning to do next year. Give yourself some time and see if there are any other dates/cruises that work for you that would cost you less.

That's a bummer. Have you priced out other cruise lines? I know you wanted Disney, but maybe you can still do the entire trip more affordable by sailing on a different line (and you may find that you like it quite a bit) and still going to WDW.

Why don't you skip the parks and just do the cruise. Or go to Universal. The parks are a big expense. I haven't been priced out of DCL, but doing a 7 day cruise and parks is more money than I would want to spend on one vacation.

Hmmmm that might be an idea

If your looking at Budget hotels. Cabana Bay is really nice. Nicer then the disney moderates. Indoor hallways, gym, great pool, free parking etc. The new water park is opening next week. You don't get the express passes at Cabana Bay. It's the only negative. My son's Dream trip is a week at WDW and a week on the Fantasy. He's going to have to keep dreaming because that is way more then I would ever spend in one trip. I could spend a month touring Europe for that kind of money. We just got back from WDW it was a lot of fun, but it's so expensive and so crowded. In 2014 we combined the Fantasy with 4 days at Universal, and it was a very nice trip

I second cruiser's idea about skipping the parks... I think they are way overpriced and you can get the same feeling of the parks by doing Disney Paris.... the flight to the states for a carribean cruise is still worth it imo (in my opinion)...

Check out www.vacationstogo.com to compare cruise prices. Select the "custom search" link on the left side (under the red button "Show Me The Deals") and you can do a quick and easy comparison of all the carribbean cruises in a specific timeframe. Once you get the results you can then click on "Price Per Night" above the status column all the way to the right.

Yeah are the 5 nights are the parks necessary? I mean, that's a huge chuck of money right there. If you really want to do the cruise, just skip the parks and it cuts the budget down by a significant amount I would think.

Yeah your right looks like universal with free hotel on Hilton points and the cruise

And just skip Disney parks all together, I looked at doing just one day in the Disney parks and it jumps up quite a bit

What's best between a 7A and 8A as the price is more less the same ??
You are referring to the stateroom categories, correct? A category 8 stateroom is oceanview, with "A" supposedly being a better location than the other category 8 staterooms, but what is the "best" location can be a personal preference. A category 7A is a Navigators Verandah room. On the Fantasy, the Navigators Verandahs are just verandahs with slight obstructions. I'd choose the 7A as I enjoy a verandah. The 7As are either forward or aft, and I prefer forward.
