I posted this on my journal but thought I would post it here as well to see if anyone could give me any insight.
Augh. I am frustrated this morning. I went to go for my walk last night and they started talking about Severe Thunderstorms in my area. I didn't want to get caught in one of those so I skipped my walk, and was mad at myself the entire evening for not going to Curves. Then this morning I got up early to go to Curves and weighed myself - 170 lbs! DANG IT!
Why can I not get back into the groove of any kind of diet. I just can't seem to maintain a diet, and I can't seem to shed any pounds with all the workouts I'm doing. The funny thing is that all my size 12 clothes are still fitting. At last year at 165lbs I was in a size 14. So I guess I am maintaining the inches lost just not the pounds. I don't know what to think! And if anyone can give me any insight I would appreciate it.
I don't have any extra money to spend each month to join Weight Watchers - and that never really worked for me anyway. I can't seem to follow any book right now (ATkins, South Beach) so I am just at a loss for the moment.
And the kicker is that I haven't been eating that bad. Sure I haven't been perfect but it is not like I've been eating cookies and cakes every night. Which is another thing that is frustrating - I'm eating healthy, lean protein, fruits, veggies, moderately eating potatoes, pastas, and breads. And still the weight stays on.
I'm about to cry any minute here because I just don't know what to do and I have to stop making excuses for myself. I don't want to weight 170lbs! Every year the goal gets a higher number. 5 years ago at 155 I wanted to weigh 140. Then it was 160 wanting to weight 145, then it was 165 wanting to weigh 150. I can't keep doing this.

I know the feeling soooooo well. Even though its hard, try not to focus too much on the number on the scale. From your post, I gather you are in better shape at 170 than you were at 165, so you have actually made progress even though the scale doesn't show it.
It doesn't seem fair. But keep working out, that's the part that is working for you. Once you find the right food plan the extra pounds will fly off your bod. Maybe for now, try doubling your low starch vegetable intake. That should help lower the portion sizes of your higher density foods. Make sure you get adequate protein everytime you eat to help stablize your blood sugar.
I hope you find the right mix for you soon and can feel happy about where you are
