Totally Disappointed in DelivEARS.

They have been in the glass cabinet in the center of the candy shop on Main Street the last 2 weeks during our visits.

I always get them at Market House and at the candy counter in Greetings from California. In fact, I have found them at those two locations year round. They are far and away my DH's fave sweet treat at DLR and it wouldn't be a trip without getting them at least once!!!

Just got back from our Thanksgiving visit with my mom, so I'm late to the discussion.

The cookies are in all of the candy shops and are so, so, so yummy!!!! It's why I bought 3 of the gingerbread kits with the Mickey gingerbread man cookie cutter. They are a bargain (to me) at $7 plus you presently get the AP discount if you're a pass holder. I also bought the Mickey head cookie cutter, but I love the little gingerbread mickey one and it's only sold as part of a kit that includes the gingerbread mix. The kits are also in all of the candy shops EXCEPT the one on Main St., or at least that was the case the weekend before Thanksgiving. The Market House had them but the candy place did not. I also saw them in World of Disney and the gift shop in DLH, but not at GCH. Can you tell I scoped this out?!

I just wanted to mention that I asked while I was at DL (Pooh Corner candy shop, to be exact) if they could ship them for me and was also told no. They are not allowed to ship any food items because if the recipient is not happy with it they are required to replace it or something along those lines. I didn't pay too much attention to the explanation once the CM told me "no." :rotfl: It's just policy and one of those things you can't get too upset about. It would be nice, though, if they would offer more cookie cutters without attaching them to other items, especially food items! Last year I wanted the gingerbread man but didn't want the whole apron kit or whatever it was. At least you could ship that, but it would be nicer from a consumer standpoint to be able to just buy the cookie cutters alone. I'd love to have a set of MM cookie cutters in various sizes. I love the gingerbread mix but hadn't thought about the shipping aspect.

Anyway, the site someone posted mentions that she only has 12 of the kits, so if you want one you probably ought to buy it quickly. That person is charging double what they cost at the parks but the only other option I can think of is to see if someone who is going to be in the parks would get one for you, which would mean that person would have to ship it to you etc. so that would probably have to be a last resort.

Hey, DizMe! I'm glad to be hearing more details about your trip! Would you say the Gingerbread cookies from the tour are the same as the ones you bought in the stores? The OP thought they might be different.

Yes, the tour cookies are the same as those in the stores! I had 3 of them on my trip :thumbsup2. They are not quite the same as last year's, though. Last year, there was a big white chocolate circle embedded in the stomach area and the ears were chocolate dipped. This year, the white chocolate is gone and has been replaced by little white chocolate "buttons," which while good, don't give you as much white chocolate as last year. My sister liked it better this year, so it's a personal taste thing. The ears this year are dipped but they are also covered in red sugar and I'm not sure whether or not what they're dipped in is regular or white chocolate. At any rate, they are SOOOOOO good!!! They manage to make them soft and chewy but not too soft. Oh, man--I may be breaking out one of my kits today :rotfl2:

Our tour ended up in Toontown, which is where we got the treats. I don't normally go there when I'm at DL so I don't know if you can always get them there or not, but they had a little take-out window where we got our cookies and cocoa. Last year, it was next to the Princess Fantasy Faire and I don't think you can normally get food there. Both places may just be a tour thing and not open all the time.

During the tour, they tell you some cool stuff about gingerbread and specifically how it figures into the resort. It's so interesting!

Hmmmm. I've been looking forward to those cookies of "chewy, soft, hefty, yummy, gingerbready goodness" ever since I first read your description, Sherry. Maybe we should start a thread specifically for locations of Gingerbread Cookie Goodness and where it can be found! I'm awfully glad I will be getting one on the Holiday Tour (2 weeks from today! :cool1:).

Good! My work is done! I am subtly influencing people to succumb to the DSE (Disney Snowball Effect) - or the DSHE (Disney Snowball Holiday Effect;)) in one way or another by promoting those cookies!:lmao::lmao: I hope you like the cookies. You know how it is when you eat or do something at DLR or wherever, and come back raving about it to other people, only to elicit a response from someone, "I didn't like it at ALL. It was terrible"?? So I can say I liked the cookies. My friend - who ate the arm of the gingerbread man that I broke off for her - ended up buying 8 of the cookies at the end of the visit. I don't know what the quality of the cookies is at any of the other stores/shopes, but the ones I got at Marceline's were chewy, soft, hefty, yummy, gingerbready goodness!!

At least it is good to know that the cookies are everywhere. I swear it seemed like we saw them in every single shop we went into last year, so I was about to panic if they disappeared now. I knew they were in all the bake shops and all the candy stores (and the Arcade), but I wouldn't be surprised if they are lurking around in other shops too!

Thank you to everyone for their comments. The only reason I can think they were so hard to find for us (even though my mother was obsessed, looking in all the places mention (except pooh's)) is that it was the first weekend of the tour and maybe all the cookies were used for the tour people. I do not think everyone was ready for the week early start. If anyone was there it was hard to find the pumpkin fudge they had limited supplies. So I am glad to know now they are EVERYWHERE!!! Everyone enjoy the delicious gingerbread cookies!!! :)

Disneyland Planner, if you can't get one let me know and I will look for you when we go back in just a few days......I have NO problems shipping a food item to you! :)

I hope Disneyland Planner doesn't mind me posting this, but I went to the park yesterday and bought the LAST ONE IN ALL OF DLR and will be shipping it shortly! I went to all the shops on Main St. and they were sold out, then to World of Disney and they were sold out, and then finally found the LAST ONE on the shelf in DCA. The manager and cashier both congratulated me on getting the last one since there were no more in stock. I asked if they would be getting any more shipments and they said no, that when they sell out of Christmas stuff, that's that. That last thought kind of made me sad - I mean, selling out of a Christmas item by November 30th? Kind of crazy if you ask me!

Really?? That sounds just crazy......I can't believe they would be sold out already and NOT getting more in.....that just doesn't make sense.......
