Totally deleting everything off your iPod

Anyone know how to do this?
I am selling mine soon and want to totally delete the content of it. I feel it would be a less of a hassle for the person buying it from me to only have to format, rather then clean it out them selves, and that why they also don't have the chance to mess up their own iTunes.

Go to iTunes, select all (It's under Edit or something), right click delete.

What I've done for deleting one song (and I'm sure this works for deleting all songs) is

1. Go to iTunes and click "music" to see all the songs on your iPod
2. UNCLICK all the checked boxes next to the songs
3. Plug in your iPod so that it says "synching iPod"

This should get rid of all the songs
