Maybe I am missing something. I thought I read everything but I guess not, so am asking for help.

Our trip is in June. Staying at OKW. Bought my park hopper tickets online and linked them to our room through MDE. So far, so good. ADR's made. Again, so far, so good. Magic bands set up, colors picked, and waiting for them to come in the mail. Okay so far. Here is what I don't get...today, in the mail, I get 4 park hopper tickets to the parks! What is up with that? They are clearly labeled as "ticket media".

I thought MB were replacing tickets? Oh, and these "ticket media" are hard cards, like credit card material. Is this normal?

Panic is settting in.....

Magic Bands connect to your My Disney Experience account. You still get ticket cards, you can either use them or the bands. It's not one or the other.

Thanks for the quick reply!

The cards are so thick though. How would we use the cards, because they would not go through the turnstile ticket booth like the paper tickets did. I am going to give the MB a try, to see how they work but I am thinking I will carry these around with me just in case.

I will have a bag anyway to carry id, a credit card and my DVC card so what's another card? You never know if/when magic bands won't work and you are standing on line to make a purchase.

They would be used the same as the magic bands, you tap them to the Mickey head. There are no turnstiles.

The numbers on the media that you received should match the numbers in your MDX account.

FYI, another way to add media to your MDX account is to use the smart phone app and take a photo of the bar code.

Since Bill brought it up, what exactly is the app I will use for my iPhone while in the parks? I know I have been reading posts about wifi hit/miss, but I have no idea what the app is to begin with.

I guess I will check the numbers on the tickets to those numbers on my MDE account. I wonder if they will match...

Look up "Disney World app" in the apple store. It will come up with a Mickey Head in a circle in a blue box with the wording "My Disney Experience".
