If I don't ask, I won't ever know.

I finally decided on how I'd like to do WDW date removed. The downside is that it appears availability is nil at that time. I was planning to do a rental through David's but his site says sold out. Does that mean I'm totally out of luck or is there some sort of waitlist? I really, really want to stay at resort & date removed. Am I dreaming or is it possible?

I appreciate the replies - tips and even cold water reality wake ups. It might be easier to figure out a Plan B if I know that this is totally impossible.

:goodvibes

More than likely yes to being out of luck renting anything date removed. Most all members book 11 to 7 months in advance for date removed. Sorry

Oh and I just saw you want resort removed, Yes I don't think you have any chance of all there.

I doubt many members would be willing to wait list, not sure how that would work for a rental.

I think somewhere in the cobwebs I *knew* this but I was just hoping there was some sort of loophole.

We will have a fab time no matter where we end up - I was just hoping to still have a budget that wouldn't cause dh to get more grey hair.

Sign up for David's e-mail specials newsletter. Then in case he does get any last minute points to rent, he will send those out at a discount. But those will be for SSR in 99% of the cases. But you wouldn't be able to plan on that, so you would have to make alternate plans if you really want to go then. Book a room only somewhere since that can be cancelled 5 days out w/o penalty.

In general, timeshares require booking well in advance. If you want to rent for a future trip, keep in mind that most DVC owners book 7-11 months out, so you're going to find limited availability if you try to get something inside 7 months.

The week you're looking for happens to be one of the busiest weeks of the year for DVC reservations. Owners are ready to pounce on the phones the minute Member Services opens, on the very first day of their 11-month booking window.

So, yeah, I'd say your chances of a reservation that week are slim to none, leaning heavily towards 'none'. Even if you managed to get an owner to get on a wait list, at this point, there are many, many people in front of you on the list.

IMO, your only shot is to sign up for David's last minute specials e-mail. And that's a very, very, long shot.

TY for the replies.

I wonder why it's such a busy week. I went to WDW last year on that week for a wickedly awesome price because it was a low capacity time... :confused3

Some dates that are not really busy for the general public are prime dates for DVC members who book very early and take advantage of low points for said dates. I would say that's especially true for October thru December.

What's hot for DVC isn't always what is hot for the rest of WDW. Members go for special events, low points, holidays.
