I have been checking the WDW wait time app for the past few weeks getting ready for my upcoming trip in April. One attraction that has really stood out is Tower of Terror. It has been consistently longer than RRC and often equal or greater than Toy Story. Right now it was just 110 minutes in low season. And this is not just anecdotal it has been extremely long (mostly) for the past few weeks. Is something going on with the ride? Breaking down? Running only one elevator? Or maybe just the effect of FP+? This was always a popular ride but not in the realm of Soarin, Test Track or Anna and Elsa. Anybody have an explanation?

It has a lot to do with how many rides are open at HS now. They need to get a few more rides in the park to lower the wait times.

DHS obviously needs more rides but that just doesn't make sense,ToT usually has the lowest wait times of the three big rides.

When we went in nov, we rode once with fp, rode once with 15 minute wait, and rode once with 80 minute wait because something broke down after we got in line.

When we were there last Friday only one elevator was running so times were as you have noticed and Fastpasses were gone by 130.

We asked about this when we were there on Friday because I had been noticing the same thing. They said one side of elevators was down for off-season maintenance, and when they are done the sides will switch.

We were there last week too and asked why the waits were so long. ChimneyJim is correct, we were told it was because only one side of the ride was running.

Yep. That's what we were told too last weekend. When I saw a standby wait time of 105 min. at 9:00 am, I thought it was a mistake. Nope. And the time only got longer as the day went on.

Mystery solved! Only one elevator running according to previous posters. Makes sense that they will maintain the other one after first one is done. Looks like the LONG standby waits will continue for a little while. I wonder how long?
