Alright here's the deal.. i'm going to disneyworld this summer for the sixth time and i think it's the 3rd time i've been since ToT has been at MGM. Now i've been on RnRC 3 times and absolutely LOVE IT!! although... i haven't been on ToT. ofcoarse i know that you drop three or four times from 13 stories and everyone tells me it's fun but i'm still unsure. i'm not the biggest rollercoaster fan in the world because i hate the big DROPS so that's why RnRC doesn't bother me. obviously, that means ToT is a big problem because all it is is drops. part of me says go ahead and ride it but the other part of me is saying to keep my butt on the ground and watch while everyone else is dropping from 130 feet in the air. i don't want to not go and feel as though i've missed out on so much therefore that's why i'm relying on my fellow dis-sers to help me out here. Should i take the chance and ride the twilight zone tower of TERROR or should i sit it out and endlessly remain wondering?

Aw, try it at least once. I put it off for years and finally the kids convinced me to try it. It is my all time favorite ride!!!!

At the risk of sounding like a broken record (I've answered this question so many times before) - you really should go on it. Not for the drops, which are truly just a small portion of the attraction, but for the special effects. The theming in the queue and the preshow are wonderful, but the best stuff comes after you enter the elevator. Alot of people assume that once you're in the elevator you immediately ascend and drop. Dead wrong. There's actually brilliant special effects before the drops. You can't experience them unless you get in the elevator, and if you decide to bypass it, you are missing out on what's arguably Disney's finest hour.

Go on it. At least once. I think you'll be glad you did.:D

GO FOR IT!!
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised....
However, I'm trying again this year to get my DH to "go for it". He usually ducks out the "escape exit" when we approach the elevators for boarding.

I agree with everyone else, I would at least try it! I put it off for the longest time and now wish I hadn't! LOL It is a fun ride, IMO! :) Have a great time! :)

Give it a try - You only live once!!!!

Aww, do it! It took me 4 years to get up enough courage to go on. This is a very smooth ride. No jerking, no hard hits. Also, the amount of time you're actually going up and down is very short (too short!) The next time I'm at WDW I'm going to time the drops. I bet it doesn't last much more then 2 or 3 minutes.

This is the only ride I would devote an entire night at MGM, or any other park, to ride.

Tower of Terror is my families absolute favortie ride, I will repeat what someone else said the drops are a small portion of the ride there is so much to see during the entire ride. We have only been to MGM once but went on that ride at least 6 times....lol We were lucky to be there on a slow day and you gotta love those past passes.

Take a chance you will love it.

Alright!:D Now don't forget to tell us how you loved it when you get back!

I agree that you should try it if you can get up the nerve to do so. However I really don't like that type of ride either so it isn't my favorite = like some folks here! However I kept telling myself it was safe cause it is disney - right? right? right? :smooth:

It wasn't so bad that I wouldn't ride it again! I must have been so worried over the ride the first time that I didn't pay enough attention to the theming! I hardly remember it! LOL! It does help to just keep your eyes closed on the drops if you're bothered by the whole "falling from heights" thing. Also take along a family member/friend if you can. I rode by myself cause we had to do baby swap. It didn't help that the ride was closed for awhile and we stood in line an extra long time (even with FP) and that made me wonder if it had broken down or something...if they were mopping up the floor.... :Pinkbounc

Enjoy!

I love rollercoasters but do not like big drops on rides either. My DH and DD practically had to drag me on the ToT the first time I rode it. It is now one of my favorite rides. I am glad you decided to give it a try.

I finally went and was really glad I did. I HATE those drops on Rollercoasters too. This is a different sensation because you are not falling or dropping (like when you do down a hill on a rollercoaster) but are pulled down and then pushed back up by hydraulics. Its smooth and you don't get that stomach lurch.

I still screamed my damn fool head off but I figured if little kids and old ladies go on it and don't die - then its safe.

I was high on adrenaline for an hour!

i'll be sure to tell everyone how it goes... that is if i don't chicke out while standing in line!! thanks alot!! everyone's been a great help!!

tops, how many floors do you actually freefall?? you don't drop the full thirteen stories..... do you?? (gulp)
