Depending on what you mean by "jerky," I'd say it was somewhere between very mildly "jerky" and somewhat "jerky."

Very little forward-backward motion. (Some forward, no backward.)

But, it CAN offer a LOT of very sudden-UP, and also sudden-DOWN motion. (Sometimes both, in rapid succession.)
And, sometimes a downward start-stop "shaking wiggle."

ToT is the favorite "motion attraction" for my wife and me at WDW.
And, my wife has a lot of "motion-sickness" issues on some other WDW rides… not ToT.

thank you....we may be taking the "chicken" way out but I would love to see the themeing

I have motion sickness or vertigo on motion simulators or panoramic movies with swooping scenes and occasional vertigo or dizzy spells when im just standing or sitting.. tower of terror causes no problems for me in that way. It IS very fun-scary and the sudden drops give me that squirmy belly feeling that goes away right after i return to proper gravity.

They do have a chicken exit, but unfortunately you really cant see any of the ride to give yourself an idea whether you can handle it

I had my first and very severe episode of vertigo about 9 months before a family trip to WDW. I was concerned about certain rides triggering another bout...I proactively took medication prior to my two days at the Studios. I wanted to ride ToT and RnRC. I did not have any trouble. At the other parks I closed my eyes on a few motion sensitive things (ex. the spiral tunnel on Buzz, parts of Mickey Philharmagic). I also did not ride MS or Star Tours but I have never ridden them before due to motion sickness concerns. I have taken the chicken exit on both so I could walk thru, I did ride Soarin with no trouble and also Everest.

I have occasional positional vertigo problems and have no problem with ToT. Was I was there 2 weeks ago, I rode it 4 times in one day. Twice in the morning and twice in the evening. My favorite ride! Put your arms up for better air time! :scared1:

I've had episodes of BPPV but never had an issue at WDW. I do avoid the teacups as well as the spinnies (the rocketships and the Flying Carpets) but luckily have never had an issue on anything else! I don't think ToT is that jerky - even the drops are pretty smooth. Definitely take your medicine if you are nervous! Have a great time :)

I've had two bouts with vertigo within the last year and a half, both caused by my head getting jerked in an unfamiliar way and the "crystals" in my inner ear becoming dislodged. First time I visited an ENT Specialist who perfomed the Epley maneuver and fixed it. Second time, I watched the Epley maneuver on YouTube and did it myself. Also fixed.

I do most rides at WDW and none of them have triggered my vertigo. I've found EE, RnRC and BTMRR to be more of a jerky/head shaking ride than TOT. In fact, my head stays pretty stationary on TOT - it's my butt that goes flying up :lmao: Anyway, I think you should be ok.
