Hi all --

My Unofficial Guide 2004 just arrived in the mail from Amazon last night and in typical disneyaholic fashion - I dived right in!!

There was a new thing in the book this year that I thought I would share. Apparently there is an exception to the Fast Pass system at Tower or Terror. According to the UG - you can get a fast pass after 1 hour of getting your TOT fast pass instead of the normal 2 hours for the other lines.

I thought that was interesting news!

That is too funny! So, I am not the only one that was anxiously awaiting the ups man! My hub couldnt believe that I was almost half way through my book already!
Got is tuesday, cant put it down!

I don't think it is an exception for TOT only. My understanding is that now the time you can get another pass depends on different factors (maybe how many fast passes are being distributed) the time you can get another pass is printed on the fast pass and can vary for any attraction.

We haven't been there since this change so no first hand experience but we'll find out soon enough :)

There is no more two-hour rule. There hasn't been for months. If the UOG still states that in its brand new edition, they are using outdated information.

O.K...so how do we know/find out the rules? Or did I miss the answer to that? This place is just a bundle of info1

The info in the 04 UOG, tells that you can obtain another fast pass, when you enter your return window, OR after 2 hrs from time of issue whichever is first.

It also says, that when you obtain a FP from either Haunted Mansion, or Jungle Cruise, that the FP clearly states, you can get another FP for any FP attraction, in just five minutes....

Wether this is outdated, or current, I do not know.... it is simply what is in the newest UOG. I will find out in about 7 days!!!

according to wdwguide....
"There is no more two-hour rule. There hasn't been for months"

he/she makes it sound as if you can just go about getting FP, one after another with no type of wait at all... will have to wait and see i guess!

Have fun figuring it out! I still have three looong weeks!

:D Thanks, Michelle

The 2-hour rule is gone, the time you can get another FP is printed on the FP and varies by attraction. I went and looked at wdwguide's FP FAQ and it has some examples. Sounds like there is not wait at all sometimes and TOT is one that has a pretty quick return.

My 11yo DD will be especially excited to know this about TOT, her goal is to ride more than 50x on our next trip. With the 2hr rule it would have been impossible or very difficult - with these new rules she could almost ride all day. Maybe I need to start finding her a ride partner!

Thanks folks. I believe these FASTPASS changes were implemented after we went to press. I'll post a correction on the Unofficial Guide's website shortly.

Gabbygrenell, there's still a wait in most cases, from what we've been able to determine. That wait varies, though, by attraction, time of day, and crowd levels.

Sincerely,

Len

Sorry for not clarifying this. Please take a look at my FAQ for a detailed description of how the system currently works.

FastPass FAQ

It indeed appears as if the UOG went to press around the time the system was being implemented, hence the discrepancies. I'll pick up a copy one of these days and take a closer look at it.
