Just listening to the Hollywood Studio 101 segment of this week's PodCast and got to the part about Tower of Terror. Val & I do enjoy this ride at HS and recently had an opportunity to do it a DCA.

Comparing the two versions, we came away liking the left coast version better. At DCA, the ride vehicle does not move forward part of the ride. Apparently you are already in the "drop shaft" when you get on the elevator. We found that the drop sequence at DCA was more thrilling - at least to us - on both the times we rode it.

Just our opinion.

When we went to DHS back in 1999, we thought that ToT was one of the best things we've every experienced....at least that's what the scrapbook says.

But now, after growing to love DCA's version, I don't enjoy the DHS version nearly as much. The room with all the lights....where you can see the floor and the path.... :confused3

My vote goes to WDW. :lovestruc

I love the engineering and theming of the Hollywood Studios version- the fact that your "elevator" has to cross the building is very cool!

Always WDW for one key reason.

If you ride the DCA (or Disneyland Paris one) they do not randomise the amount of drops. Every time you will have the exact same ride (due to the fact the vehicles are already in the drop shaft).

WDW randomises the amount of drops- so you never know how many times you'll fall. Which to die-hard ToT fans is much more fun!

I prefer the WDW version because of the extra ride element of moving horizontally. I think it adds to the story and the ambiance of the experience

I like the DHS version better. Having the elevator move horizontally is so eerie, and it make the ride seem a little longer. I like both, but prefer DHS's.
