TOT 10 Miles of Awesome (maybe)

Hit my cardio class today. I upped my weights and wow, I am pooped! But glad to be able to finally get back in the swing with my workouts.

So we solidified our plans now. We're booked into a two bedroom villa at Old Key West. We're wait listed at Boardwalk Villas, so fingers crossed. With my folks coming it means DH can meet me for the after-party! Of course he'll get some extra time to ride the rides before I show up but oh we'll. It will make me run faster so I can get there to squeeze some rides in.

The weather here has gone all cold and rainy so any runs would have to be treadmill mills, which I find less motivation for anyways.

I am hoping to get in a total of ten for the week. My ankle is feeling better and I really feel like it's time to get back on the horse.
 
I think I should clarify, I went out with a friend and had two drinks with dinner. But I drink so little now just two seemed to knock me off my feet! I was feeling a little heavy headed the next day so, alas, no run for me Sunday.

I feel you on that! Saturday Night I hosted Game Night at my house - I may have turned into a hot mess as I had a full bottle of Cabernet + a 25.4 oz bottle of Unibroue Terrible Beer which is 10.5% ABV. It didn't help that I pretty much didn't eat after sprints except for a taco from Moes at 2PM and then my BBQ Pork at 7PM when the party started. Thank goodness I was at my house! Good thing I had Sunday as my rest day in the plan as I wasn't going to do anything but clean my kitchen and eat bland food.

Today's run paid for it as I was 40 seconds slower per mile. I did it to myself though so I'll own up to it.
 
We'll not much word on training. But I do have my costume all set. Thanks to "someone" who tole me about the Raw Threads sale yesterday, I grabbed a Red Queen shirt which I'll wear with my black sparkle skirt and my red queen top hat!

I also got a Cheshire Cat shirt which I might wear for the 5k unless DS WANs us to do matching (although maybe I could convince him to be the mad hatter...)

:scared1: Just get yourself back on track...lesson learned, but don't beat yourself up over it! Sometimes we have to let loose.

My ankle is much better...2 weeks since my last run :scared1: Not good...Now that it is staying lighter longer into the evening it will make it a lot easier.

So jealous of your raw threads purchases, I looked at their size measurements and I am not yet quite into their XL size...:worried::worried::worried: so it will be a while more before I get one. I would love to have the grey with white/red polka dotted bow! And then get the peek-a-boo Minnie sparkle skirt. Thinking that would be a great park day outfit! My goal is to sparkle every day at PHM!

I will say, their measurements said I was an xl but when I got it I could really have ordered a large. Ordered larges this time (let's hope they fit!)

Got about 1.5 miles in on the treadmill. Trying not to push it until me PT gives me the ok. Honesty, after about a mile I was feeling pretty right. That's what I get for not running for a few weeks :(

Feeling positive though, even going slow my time was ok. At the PHM with my injury and stopping at med stations I averaged just over 14m/m. For a long run that is not too bad for me, and with an injury and 100% humidity I am ok with it.

I think momabjaaro may have convinced me to run PHM again next year. I will not be traveling with my group from this year. Honestly not even sharing my runs with them. It's really none of their business, if they won't be supportive I don't need them even knowing. So there!
 
Got up and going today and hit my Pilates class. I haven't been in a few weeks and, man could I tell. I have never been good at planking, and my class does a 5 minute plank each time. I usually make it to about 3.5 then have to hit my knees. I barely made it past 2 today! D'oh!

Having lunch with a new exercise group I met on meetup.com. Hoping there's a bit less crazy in this group.
 
Back to the physical therapist today who told me I need to also work on core strength but that it looks ok and I can do a couple of miles at a time. I told him that info wasn't stuck at his physical therapy appointment I would have been at Pilates class working on my core lol.

More happenings on the drama front. Trying hard to rise above it. I keep repeating my mantra "girls compete with each other, women empower each other". I am sick of girls.
 
On a more positive note, my raw threads tops came today! Super excited about them. Ordered a size smaller than last time and they are a tad bit too tight, so more motivation for weight loss!

I love this mantra...remember to sing at least in your mind as loud as you can "Let it Go...The cold never bothered me anyway!"

I don't understand it either. It's all so petty and silly too.

I am currently planning on PHM, but going solo (and meeting up with y'all of course)

I will definitely be at TOT. Going with my whole family and super excited.

It did get here super quick. I am super excited. I am wearing Cheshire cat at the 5K and hoping I can convince DS to be Mad Hatter. I will wear Red Queen at the 10 miler with my hat. No idea about PHM costume yet though, probably just recycle these :blush:
 
My PT did say something interesting when I was telling him about the craziness surrounding my last race. He said he removes the time chips from the back of his bib. Then no one but himself know what time he ran the race in. Might be worth it to rid myself of stalkers. I will def. think about it!

Interesting...only keep the chips that you want/need time for...as you learn to ignore them and their comments. Remember who you are running for and why you are running...

Nothing wrong with doing that if you want. Its really pathetic on the other people's end if they are going to stalk you over a race. I don't get people that get wrapped up in drama about the things in life that don't matter.
 
I might consider doing it for TOT since I am not telling anyone I am running it. Of course my name may still come up in a google search.

Sad I have to change my life for these people :(.
