Tossing petals

Hey ladies,

While our blue rose bouquets will be silk and we'll be providing the freeze-dried white rose and blue hydrangea petals for the "aisle"...I'm interesting in having a staged photo with our guests tossing rose petals.

The basic colors of the wedding are all shades of blue, accents of silver and my dress is ivory. I'm really not girly when it comes to colors so any suggestions on rose petals for the toss? No pinks...sorry girls lol.

Old fashioned red? Stick with the white roses and blue hydrangea petals? I was thinking maybe orange but that might stand out odd since nothing else would be orange...

:flower3:

From your colors, I'd go with White, but keep in mind where your ceremony is and what would show up best on camera. We got married at SBP and because the wood is kind of dark, when I discussed petals for the aisle and to toss, rather than go with more Sterling roses which I would have preferred, we did more Ivory so they'd show up in pics.

Same thing with the petal toss. Unless you're going for something bright, I'd go with White to make sure they show up well.

HTH! :goodvibes

We're getting married at the SBP as well. My "dream" pic would be the one of the petals in the air, so I wasn't sure if the white petals would come out in the air.

I'll probably check with Vicki and David Arndt as well as they have probably seen it all. :cool2:

I had copper and ivory mixed. The copper definitely showed up more!

I agreee...I would go with something otherthan white. Blue might be ok but something like orange or yellow would be great too!

Definitely pick a brighter color. It'll show up so much better. I had the colors of my bouquet, which is mostly pale, and I wish I had just done a deep purple.

Here's a couple of our pics from the toss:

I was happy with the way the petals came out. We picked the Sterling and Ivory roses. (which were the same as for the aisle, just more Ivory for the aisle and more Sterling for the toss).
It depends on where you do the toss I guess, we were not under SBP as ColeV (Nicole?) so ours showed up better. We were on the walkway path. You might want to check with your planner where you will be doing the toss (maybe they all do it differently, who knows?)

Thanks for all the ideas & pictures! I would love to just use silk blue rose petals but I believe everything must be biodegradable...

I guess whatever color I use I'll try to throw some accent in my bouquet and hair to match :)
