Tortola - Doing the Baths on our own - will this work?

@mmdreamer thanks for the valuable info! We are looking to beat the crowd and have some privacy with our group (10 adults/4 kids (9 months - 7yo). For either the Baths or Spring Bay, did you feel rushed getting back to catch the 12:30 PM ferry or was that plenty of time? Did you bring you bring your own snorkeling gear? How about snacks/food for the kids and/or have lunch there? Also, do you recall if there are restrooms at Spring Bay?

Sorry for the slow reply! We spent about an hour at the Baths and 2 hours at Spring Bay. The nice part about going on our own is that we could have stayed longer if we wanted to and take a later ferry back. We did not bring any food with us, just water - we had a large breakfast and were back on the ship for lunch by 1:30. We brought our own snorkel gear - just mask and snorkel, no fins. There are no restrooms at Spring Bay. The Baths has a restroom at the top by the ticket booth, there isn't one on the beach at Devils Bay. At the bottom of the right hand side trail, there is a small building - I'm not sure what was in there. The ferry terminal has one, so your group may want to make a pit stop there before getting in the taxi and heading to the beach. The waves at Devils Bay were pretty rough when we were there, but the small enclosed area on the north end of Spring Bay was very calm and would be better for small children.
