Im still really struggling with the Tortola excursions. The beach day prices are skyrocket, and the drive and beach excursion is only an hour on the beach. How do-able and reasonable is it to grab a cab to a beach with an 18 month old and 4 year old? Obv. there'd be no car seat involved. Maybe cane garden bay? Thoughts/suggestions please!

We did cane garden bay on our own with a 4 year old. The cabs are more open air safari buses and very easy to catch. I would not pay to do this through Disney.

We stopped at Cane Garden Bay on an island tour. It's a nice beach with plenty of food and beverage options with chairs, recreation, and restroom facilities. Taxis for return to the ship are in abundance.

For families with kids, it's the most developed beach in the island. The others are quieter with few if any amenities. Also nice, but p rhapsody more difficult with younger children.

It's about 20 -25 minutes and taxi is very easy. Th dispatchers at the port will point you in the right direction. Tortola is a great place - far more relaxing and "chill" than St. Thomas.

I was reading some reviews on this and they mentioned some places near the drop off charge for the bathrooms? Does anyone have recommendations on good locations on the beach to camp out?

We did the tour that ended at Cane Garden Bay this past January . Not very impressed with the beach. Old beach chairs that looked like they were discarded from some of the cruise ships. Crowded. We had to wait in line for about 20 minutes to use the bathrooms and they were disgusting. Sign in the bathroom said don't flush if you're just peeing.

We did this last summer and did not do it through an excursion. Taxi to Cane Garden, very easy, they all line up at the dock, you tell the driver when you want to head back and he'll come get you. It was about 20 bucks each way for 4 people. Bathrooms do not charge but compared to what you've been experiencing on the ship they will seem like wilderness bathrooms.
