It's not showing up in the menu database. Has anyone ever been? If so, is it any good? What's the menu & prices like?

I'm making a list on my iPhone of places that sound good to eat so we don't have to wander around looking at menus all the time.

TIA!:wave2:

I was just perusing thru the database .. there's an error in regards to Tortilla Joe's. The menu listed is for the take out/ tortilleria not for the sit down interior restaurant (which is higher priced).

The take out window items are good.. hit or miss sometimes but good for a cheaper meal. The tacos are generous in size, buy a side of guacomole to give it more zip.

Yeah- something needs to be done with the database. There's really no point in having it if it's full of erroneous information.:confused3

Thanks for the info!

We ate there once, it was gross. I won't do it again.

I agree with pixiwings 71. We went there when it first opened and everything tasted terrible. Was just back last Monday and was very surprised Tortilla Joes is still there. Plenty of other places to eat. I would pass on this one.

We ate there on a recent trip and thought it was really good. Here are some pics, I had the veggie burrito and DH had the nachos. We got a lot of food at a reasonable price.

We really like the take out window at Tortilla Joe's. The food is fresh, well prepared and a good price. Maybe it's just what we've always ordered (chicken burritos) but it was a nice break from the heavy, greasy food that's everywhere.

We ate inside last year and thought it was very good. And they were very nice. This year if the weather is accomodating, we are going to try inside.

I like the take out window. However, I find the service to be very slow. I like the mexicone (chicken) and the chocolate churros are pretty good too.

Maybe we went on a bad day. We ordered 2 items from the window (our girls wanted Jazz Kitchen Express) and they were just yucky. I don't remember what it was now, I want to say DBF got a burrito and I had nachos and they were just disgusting.....

Pixie I think your experience WAS the norm. It seems that a few years ago everyone I talked to said it was the most vile food you could eat and Food Poisoning just waiting to happen. But more recently I have been hearing more and more good things. They must have learned a few lessons and started to cook edible food and decided to stop posioning the guests :rotfl2:

I am still not ready to try and eat over there, but with the good reviews becoming the norm I might just give it a try.

Ok, thanks for that fairycat, it's been a couple years since we tried it so I thought maybe it was just us. :) I want to try eating inside there once....but I'm still afraid. lol

Kerri - I've never had a problem inside. In fact, the other week, we got nachos on the way out and the chicken ones were great. They tend to overcook the pork until it's dry, so I picked around the pork.

When I tell you they were great, my extremely picky girls (who live on air because they are too busy to eat) ate them and asked for more. We were really surprised.

I have been sick from other DL places (cough....Ariel's Grotto....cough) and have never been sick here.

That sounds good Nancy, chicken nachos. My girls are the same as yours, super picky. lol

Here's the link to the menu pages

Keep in mind this is a new feature for DL so it's not the best right now

I've always gotten good food from the take out window. DS usually gets the nachos and I usually get the mexicone.

Mixicone - A cone-shaped crispy corn tortilla filled with beans, rice, sour cream, onions, Monterey Jack cheese, cilantro and choice of Marinated Chicken $6.25, Shredded Pork $5.95, Shredded Beef $8.50, Vegetarian(Black Beans and Monterey Jack cheese $6.75.

Just ate there twice over my last trip on New Years and the food was pretty good. Had the taco's both time which were good, but I was a little disappointed with the nachos. I just don't like nacho cheese on nachos and I would have thought at a mexican restaurant they wouldn't use nacho cheese, but I'm sure some people enjoy it. The rice was really good as well.
