My fiance and I are going to Toronto for a concert at the end of July. We live several hours away so we plan to stay two nights and enjoy the city. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced hotel downtown which has parking? I have been searching a bit online and found some decent rates but it is hard to tell what the parking situation is. Can anyone give me a heads up?

If it helps, the concert is at the Molson Ampitheatre on Friday night, July 26th so we are looking for something relatively close to that but we will have a car (again, the parking dilemma).

Thank you!

Our favourite hotel in Downtown Toronto is the Residence Inn in the Entertainment District. We also liked the Westin Harbour Castle. I would avoid the Delta Chelsea......its further away and our experience was far below that of the other two.

Parking is going to be an extra cost at a downtown Toronto hotel no matter which property you choose. Some hotels have packages that bundle parking into your rate (like the Marriott's "cars eat free" promo, where you get parking and a gas card with your room reservation), but you will be paying for it one way or another.

Another thing you should know is the molson amphitheatre is just outside of the downtown area near the exhibition grounds. Also another suggestion is you may want to park your car at the hotel and just use public transit to get to and from the amphitheatre

Thanks for the info! One reason we want to be downtown is so we can do just that - park the car and get about on our feet or in public transit. We live in the country so the thought of getting away from a car is fantastic!

What else do you have planned for your getway?

As far as location goes, the Residence Inn is very close to the CN Tower (and Rogers Centre), while the Westin Harbour Castle is right by the dock where you can take a ferry over to the Island.

I'd second either of those. And the streetcar ride down to the Ampitheatre is fun as well. You can get a great hotdog on the harbourfront, and the One Hour Harbour Tour in the little blue kiosk at Queen's Quay is great. I worked there for a few summers. Haggle with them. They have to fill the boats.

Just avoid Captain John's - the big seafood ship/restaurant. Worst. Restaurant. Ever. Tourist trap extrordinaire. :scared:

Have fun!! :)

Just a little FY the Queen's Quay Harbourfront streetcar is closed until november as they are redoing the street. I second the Harbour tour and will recommend Toronto Harbour tours http://www.harbourtourstoronto.ca/ as my brither is one of the Captains.
