In Central Florida, the National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch as Dennis nears. The watch will remain in effect until 4 p.m. and it covers the following counties: Brevard, Indian River, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia.

The National Weather Service office in Ruskin said several tornado touchdowns in the Tampa Bay area have caused minor damage such as downed trees, but no one was injured.

You know, we complain about our weather but it just isn't a patch on what America has to cope with.

Been in WDW since 30/6. We have not had rain till yesterday a few showers which missed us) but it was windy and cloudy yesterday and the thundrstorms moved in last night. I'm looking out at the Golf course at OKW now and the bunkers are full of water but its not raining. They are sure its not coming ashore in Florida but in the Panhandle. It was at level 3(115+mph winds) and may reach level 4. Both of which are stronger than Ivan which was the last huricane to cause so much damage. Just as well G Bush does not believe in Global warming as I think this makes 6 major huricanes to reach landfall in 18 months
