Torn between the two hotels: PPH and DLH!

I've stayed at all 3 of the Disney hotels multiple times, with most of the more recent stays being at the PPH and most of the older stays being at the DLH (so I have not seen the refurbished DLH rooms), and the GCH stays scattered in between! I like them all for different reasons.

Actually, I really enjoy the PPH and my last stay there in December 2010 was my best so far (with the same gorgeous DCA view that Judy was talking about earlier!). I am going back to PPH for a big 7-night holiday extravaganza later this year because I got a great rate. If I could get that same DCA view on each PPH stay, I would stay at PPH over and over and never need to stay at the others.

But, that said, it's true that PPH is smaller than the other 2 hotels and does not have as much of the resort feel that DLH and GCH have. There's just not much to the PPH - that's its main problem. It's basically a building and a parking lot, whereas the DLH and GCH have property to explore and admire while strolling around.

Usually, I have chosen the PPH in the past because the price difference between it and the DLH was at least $30 or more per night, and sometimes $50. To me, that was significant enough to choose the cheaper option.

But in the case of the OP, since there is almost no price difference between the DLH and the PPH and the DLH has more of a classic Disney resort feel with more spacious grounds, by all means choose the DLH. It will be more of a treat, I think.

I'm at the DLH right now, after our first two nights at the VGC in a studio. LOVE this room!! We are in a room that was just released today. Everything still smells like fresh paint! I love that there's a daybed as well as 2 queens. My kids will be thrilled to get their own beds tonight.

The new pool area is great, and will be even better once the Neverland Pool is done and all the construction walls come down. Had dinner at Tangaroa Terrace tonight which easily best DL's counter service for variety and interesting choices.
