Right now I can't decide whether I want to book the PPH view room, the DLH standard room or the DLH view room for my girlfriend's birthday at the end of June. We'll be staying two nights and I cannot decide which of the three choices I want to make. Can you guys help me out and compare the three? The view room of the DLH is only 3 more dollars than the view room of the PPH hotel for each night too. I'm leaning towards DLH view but not too sure yet HELP!!! thanks!

DLH.... DLH.... DLH....

The room is magical at night :wizard:

DLH hands down. The only advantage to PPH for me would be the price. And if it's a tiny difference, there is no advantage!

I've not stayed at either but if I had the choice I'd stay at the DLH. I'd love to stay there. You sure are spoiling your girlfriend :) What a good boyfriend you are.

"Torn between two hotels...feeling like a fool...booking both of you is breaking all the rules..."

Any of them would be an excellent choice. We stayed at the PPH because the price at the time was much lower, and to tell you the truth, we enjoyed it as much as DLH. Meanwhile, DLH has just been remodeled so it should definitely have that "new" feel about it -- again. When we stayed there two years ago it was feeling its age.

Although the night view from PP is stunning. View alone I would vote the DCA view at PP to be much better than the DD view at the DLH.

That's true, the night time DCA view is wonderful BUT the renovated DLH rooms are suppose to be to die for. My DD was able to tour the rooms, she says the headboards are really cool. Tough call.

Having stayed at both hotels, I'd stay at DLH. PP was fine, but just didn't have the Disney feel.

Between the DLH and PPH, DLH all the way! :thumbsup2 I used to love the PPH but after our visit June 2010 that's no longer the case. It was run down and no better than a mid grade Harbor Blvd hotel. The pool towels were paper thin and the front desk service was shotty. I left sad as I truly loved our previous stayed there and was so excited to go back. I'd stay at the HoJo before I'd go back to the PPH.

The Dobies stayed at the DLH last summer, in a newly refurbished pool view room, and frankly, we were unimpressed. We would have liked it much more had there been a balcony. There was nothing wrong with the room or the hotel, but it just did not seem special, and it was a looooong walk to the park gates. When I looked at prices this summer I decided that DLH was just to expensive for what you get, so we are trying PP instead.

let me know which one you decide
we have a 5 year old and have always stayed at DLH but thought that next time we go we might sray at PPH just because we've never been there before (haven't been to GCH either) and the PPH looks more kid friendly.

An suggestions for me? with a 5 year old and husband? which one should I chose?

If there was a significant price difference, I would say PP, but since there's really not - DLH all the way.

We visited DLH this past weekend (just to see the new restaurant and bar) and there were A LOT of construction walls. Even getting around the hotel was difficult/frustrating. Now, that might be different by the time you get there, just thought I should warn you. Also, even with the construction walls, I think DLH has better overall ambiance and as previously stated, since there's no price difference - go for DLH.

My absolute favorite is GCH. My 6 year old is in love with the new Monorail slides, so yours being around the same age might have the same fascination. Mine also like the headboard at DLH with the lights and music. My biggest issue with PPH I guess would be the lack of elevators. I will literally skip or get off an elevator if people decide to start cramming in it.

I don't think the construction's bad. I booked DLH the other day for 4th of July.... The CM went through her whole speel on there's construction, blah, blah. I asked if that deters people and she said oh yes. I told her I've personally walked around and know what it's like and it really isn't very bad. She laughed, saying her daughter was on property and just delivered the same message but they have to warn people or get that grouchy one who will complain and want everything comp'd.
