....again!! Getting a little bit tedious for me. Just doesn't add anything to the storyline.

The last five minutes were far too rushed as well, plus another "murder without trial" from Captain Jack. Nice alien though.

Just watched it, and I agree with you Richard. It doesn't add much to the story at all, and since they have said that each character is going to have at least one Gay moment in this series, so be thankful that Owen is the only one left to have one.

I actually think the ending was rather annoyingly long. It looked like they were saying "OK, we are bored so let's fly over Cardiff!!". :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I liked the Alien too. That was so cool. It's ashame that Jack had to kill it thoughtlessly; perhaps now he's "Dead" he is now heartless as well?? Then again, he is ex-military..

Next weeks looks good. At least the person who played Suzie gets a role where she doesn't get fully killed off!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Owen has already had a a moment - he was using that spray ( first or second episode) to get a girl and then used it on the beefy boyfriend when he came to beat Owen up and ended up with both of them wanting him so he escaped, but not before he had been kissed by both of them.

Oh yeah, forgot about that! :rotfl2: Thanks Mikki; the first episode was such a long time ago..

Hopefully no more weird gay moments that don't add anything to the plot from now on! :goodvibes

Quite agree - but as dh says that is the price you get for good stories from Mr Davies!

A lot of continuity errors on this one:

2 hrs to save Gwen - middle of night
How long did it actually take them to read the poetry? That was hell of a big book to find the correct "quote".
In the Range Rover - "How long?"; "minutes" - still pitch black
On the harbour - bright sunshine, shadows too short for sunrise, looking out to sea (westward facing) red sunset, yet this was meant to be the morning.

Also, and I'll have to check the recording on this one, but when Jack was "seriously" breaking the speed limit didn't he go down the same bit of single carriageway road twice?

It reminded me of my english essays all those years ago. The first 75% very good, then I get bored and finish the essay quickly. Exactly the same with this episode. Up until the "lockdown" at headquarters it was very good, but then it seemed to fall apart.

What's with the stopwatch fun at the end?

Are Yantow (sp?) & Jack going to be a item?

Or am I missing something completely from the plot.

There is a Torchwood Gay/Lesbian theme (please don't flame me, it's only an observation) which seems to "have" to be included in every episode whether it adds to the story or not. Unfortunately, I'm finding it very tedious and have yet to see where it enhances the storyline.

I don't quite like that ep. Too grusome again.. :scared1: At least it was a LOT less than the one two weeks ago and at least it was watchable.

I agree with the time thing you mentioned Rich, but I got told that the sun was rise in the background anyway... :confused3:

Yes, Ianto (?) and Jack are quite probably going to be an item now... Get revived by the dude once and you are in his power.. My only question is how did he go from hating him to loving him? :confused3:

It's been going downhill a bit. At least they have set something up for the finale. I wonder which beast they are talking about.. Devil? Daleks? Something from Jack's past? ...

The parts of the poem they were reading out were from the same poem that the crazy guy was chanting in his litle cell I think.
I'm not sure about the stopwatch angle though. I mean
"If you're interested, there's a lot of things you can do with a stopwatch" ? I'm an open minded guy, but really, timing things is about all I can think of. If it was the whole gay thing, or rather bi - Jack mentioned an ex boyfriend specifically first time this episode (I think?) then it's a bit obscure. It did look like they insinuating something though.
Or maybe the British public can handle gay/lesbian notions now, but bi is still way too close to the line?

ZZZZzzzz. Sorry, yesterday's episode did not grab me at all. I had difficulty staying awake and DW actually fell asleep! It seemed almost like a re-hash of that Dr Who episode with Peter Kaye in it. I was half expecting ELO to start playing at anytime...well at least it would have woken DW up. DD is watching it at this very moment....plaiting her hair!

Another Gwen tourist extravaganzer as opposed to "Torchwood seeking out aliens" etc.

My thoughts exactly Rich. If there is a god, please improve this series. It is starting to go downhill for me.. :sad2:

Well, series 2 has been commissioned airing first on BBC2. Hopefully it's an improvement on what we've had so far. Just take a look at this thread - hardly anybody responds to it, and the majority of the comments are negative.

John Barrowman, on which the series was based, doesn't take the lead role that often, and when he does his acting is very wooden. His character doesn't appear to have any leadership qualities eirther. The series was meant to target an adult audience. Unfortunately, the "sex" which has been incorporated is not what I would call "adult". It's more along the 14 year old schoolboy "snig-ger sex". Battlestar Galactica does the adult sex thing far better in my opinion.

A Welsh nationalist colleague of mine came out with a very interesting statement. He said that the programme was too welsh and that he compared it to (and no offence intended here) the Jehovah's Witnesses that come knocking at your door. Because they try to push their ideas upon you, you shut them out. He feels that Russell T Davies' pushing of the welshness is having a negative effect on the programme. Interesting, coming from a welsh nationalist.

Hi guys

Sorry I have missed commenting on the last couple of Torchwoods, have been soooo busy. I totally agree with the assessment of this week's Torchwood. We thought it was far too reminiscent of that awful Peter Kay episode of DW, I hate the disembodied narrator voice, I don't think it works at all. DH said "Oh dear" before it had even been on for 5 minutes. We just kept looking at each other in amazement at how bad it was. I kept hoping there would be a decent twist at the end, ho hum.

On the other hand though, I have loved the last two episodes. I thought they both had really good stories.

Roll on the Christmas episode of DW, I say. Pity that Catherine Tate is going to be in, but hopefully she won't be able to spoil it too much.
