Toppolino's with no reservations?

I know I've read on here somewhere that people have done a walkup for breakfast and been seated in a lounge/bar area for breakfast. My situation is this: we want to celebrate my sister's birthday and have been trying for months to get a ressie, with no luck. At this point, because we like the restaurant that much, we are willing to be seated in the lounge. There are 4 of us. Can someone who has tried this and been successful please share your experience? We would be wanting a Thursday morning in early February.

Not the situation you are asking for but keep trying for the reservation, especially the 48 hours before the day you want it. Lots of people cancel within that window. My sister was able to get someone's dropped reservation for breakfast for her family of 5 at Topolino's during our trip this past August.

It might work. But you're going to have trouble getting there without an ADR. Last week we had to show them our ADR to get on the Skyliner before the parks were open.

I had not thought of the transportation aspect. How about if we drive over? Trouble entering the property then?
And GinnyBear, I continue to look for cancellations but will take your advice and check that close to our preferred date. Thanks.

We haven't done breakfast at Topolino's so not sure how relevant this is but for dinner we've had luck getting last minute reservations (day before and day of). We also ate in the lounge last month and had no issues being seated. In fact we were the only people in there.

Definitely keep looking the days leading up. I was just looking at dining availability last night for this morning and there were 2 times available for Topolino’s breakfast for today.

You will need an ADR in order to park at RIV. We have had luck with Touring Plans reservation finder to track availability of reservations. You could try a walk-up, but would need to take Disney transportation to access the resort.

Oh really? Well, I think that kind of leaves me the one option then, and that's waiting to check for cancellations.

Yes, they are definitely asking for an ADR or confirmation that you are staying there in order to drive in. You can arrive by Disney bus with no problem, but those don't go resort to resort. You'd have to get a bus from a theme park or Disney Springs which can be hard to do at breakfast time.
