Topolino's Breakfast Strategy

I've pulled together a last minute quick Disney trip April 16 & 17, and I really want to have breakfast at Topolino's. Obviously I haven't been able to get a reservation yet so I'm looking for tips on how to manage this. (Before you ask, I'm already signed up with the Touring Plans reservation finder and I'm staying at the Bonnet Creek Hilton)

How close do I have to be to get on the waitlist? How often are people getting in for breakfast from the waitlist (I've seen slots open for dinner but it always seems to be full when I look at it in the morning)? What time should I plan on being there to try and get walkup? Can I uber/lyft over to try for the waitlist or walkup? Or would I have to find a way to get over there with Disney transportation? Is the skyliner running FROM HS to Riviera in the early morning? Is Friday or Saturday a better day to try for (or I guess I just try on Friday and then tray again on Saturday if not)?

I was able to get a reservation there for the 17th with the Touring Plans reservation finder just the other day.
