I got my calf band tattoo today. It is the start of what will eventually be a calf sleeve. It is my own design, but is inspired by the Hawaiian/Polynesian traditional designs. On the outside of my leg, the arrows point forward representing me looking forward in life on the outside while looking back on my experiences on the inside.

Also, thank you to Bobby Lee Black (http://www.bobbyleeblack.com/) at Bonaroo Tattoo in Cape Coral! It was my first tattoo with him and I was very impressed with him and his shop. I will definitely be going back.

Why did the site add "Topic:" to the beginning of my thread??? :confused3 I have never seen this before.

No idea on why it would add that, I have never seen it either.

Looks like a very good job.

I have finally decided on which Mickey I want, so I'll be heading down to get my next one fairly soon myself :)

I don't know if I ever posted this b4, but this is my Mickey (German style). It is a bad shot unfortunately. The proportions are actually perfect.

did it hurt?

It really was not that bad. My upper back was the worst pain area to date. That is where I have my zodiac.

At least for me, the pain becomes a little removed. It is almost like you feel it, but the adrenaline and endorphins keep it somewhat removed from reality. To me, and may others, it is almost a spiritual experience. IMO, Do not ever get one if it does not mean something important to you though.

No Disney ones yet except the picture for that one was taken at AKL.

You have a very good artist. I have seen some really bad portraits, but both of yours are really good and look like the actual pictures.

Thanks- it was done by Bret Zarro - the picture was taken right after it was done- it is a lot more toned down now. ;)

under the catagory "ask a silly question" do you have to keep shaving your leg? won't the hair make it kind of hard to see? or does it stop hair from growing..

I've thought about getting one - a heart made out of the names of the people I have loved the most in this world - my parents, husband and daughters.

I guess I am just concerned that I will tire of it or regret it - or when I am 80 - it will be nothing more than an ugly sagging faded mass of ink :rotfl: - lovely visual huh?

So - I probably won't ever get one - but I have thought of getting that heart.

Very nice...

When I was in WDW last month I saw a young woman with a tattoo around her ankle comprised of a "chain" of Mickey icons... similar to THIS:

:earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy:

going around her ankle. Without the smiles of course! I thought it looked pretty cool...

The hair will cover it some, but that does not worry me. It does not affect the hair growth.
