This takes the cake for the biggest piece of crap/waste of money ever.

I went to Cedar Point for the first time on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, I only saw it go over about 8 times. One time, it was at the very top and rolled back. I guess it broke down because they weren't running it for the rest of the day. Sunday, it was rainy, and it looked like it wasn't going to open...until around 3:15. My friend and I hopped in line while they were testing. It would go over about once every three times empty. The sun came out, and it started making over empty and with a full train. They let people line up in the queue. The wait was about an hour and 15 minutes. That was fine with us. They tested it a couple of times with a full train, and then nothing happened for a long time. IT BROKE DOWN. They said the delay would be lengthy so a bunch of people left. We were probably half an hour away from riding (if it wasn't broke). They then said it would be at least two hours until it was working again. We had to leave at six, and it was going on 4:45 when they said this, so we had to leave. It sucked because this was one of the things we wanted to ride the most, but all in all my trip was excellent. Lines weren't nearly as long as I figured, and we rode everything (minus carnival type and kiddy rides), some more than once.

What I don't get is why they didn't make it 10 feet shorter. It would go over every time with no problem. Did the park know it would not go over all the time? If not, can't they sue the engineers? From what I've heard it's been breaking down all the time. What a waste.

Nice to see you, LTCKY!!!! Sorry you did not get to ride TTD, I think CP should sue those engineers, LOL. ;) I was there too this weekend, but not a mega-coaster fan, Iron Dragon was fine for me. As you did not get to ride it, I have a link here for you from one of the DIS'ers who did ride it this weekend, oldkicker. Take care and maybe next trip back they will have the post installation bugs worked out, like Test Track at WDW. Again, nice to see you here.

My rides in the front of Milennium Force almost made up for it. I'm going again next year for sure.

I missed out on Dragster when I was there too. I also missed out on Raptor, still ticked about that one...

But Millenium Force had to have been the BEST coaster I had been on. Smooth as glass, and fast as a rocket

They didn't make it ten feet shorter because then it wouldn't be the tallest coaster in world. Right now it only has the record by 5 feet over Superman at Six Flags Magic Mountain which is 415 feet tall.

Magic Mountain and Cedar Point have a rivalry with most and biggest coasters.

Ditto the sentiments on Millenium Force. OMG, WHAT a coaster! My NEW favorite!! I felt like I was laying down on the ascent of the big hill. And that drop! INCREDIBLE!!

Double Ditto for Millenium Force!

I've ridden the Superman coaster at Six Flags Darien Lake and it was very good, but Millenium is much better. The initial drop is an absolute HOOT! The ride is full of thrills from beginning to end.

It's a masterpiece!

BTW - I posted my review of the Cedar Point coasters we rode this weekend here
:)

This past Saturday.

We were staying at Cedar Point so we got in early...just after 9. We were in line by 9:15 or so for Top Thrill. We got on around 11:45 - noon. It seemed to be working pretty well when we left. But we did notice that it never came back after the thunderstorm.

Getting over the hill isn't the problem with the Top Thrill Dragster. It's the launching and braking system. They cannot seem to get either to work for any great length of time. When the cars are empty, it's no wonder that they don't make it over the top. The ride relys on momentum to carry it over the top. No riders means not enough momentum. The original cars had extra decorations on them that made them look like dragsters. But when one of the large faux (fiberglass) wheels fell off, they removed them all. When I rode TTD in May, the top speed was 120MPH. It appears that they have upped the speed a bit since the radar now reads 122MPH when the ride is operating.

We actually saw the dragster get stuck at the top on Thursday afternoon. It just sat there for 15 minutes until someone rode up to the top in the elevator and gave it a push.

Don't take your frustrations out on Cedar Point ~ ~ they did not design or manufacture this ride!!

I know they are not at all happy with the way this is performing. The company that designed/manufactured the Millenium and Wicked Twister is the same company for the Top Fuel Dragster. I am very surprised that they are still running this ride. They were going to close it for the rest of the summer in July if they could not get things ironed out, so they could get it right and be up and running for good next season. They must feel that they are closer to having it run more efficiently now than they were then!? I know that after spending that much money they are very disappointed with the performance and the bad rap they are getting from this coaster.

So ~ ~ be patient with Cedar Point, they are doing every thing they can to make it right for us the coaster enthusiasts!!

We were there all week and they seemed to get TTD working on Wednesday (the day we went to Cleveland) So on thursday we went into the park for starlight because my kids saw it working again. We ran over to the dragster and the posted sign said 4 hours. I looked at my kids and said "what do you want to do?" "Ride Dragster, we came all this way and we have to ride it!" So onto the line we went. When we waited about 35mintues the annoncement came on the ride is down ,you can wait and if you get off the line you will loose your spot. Well everyone just sat down. not one person moved off the line. In ten mintues the ride was back on. Yeah. Well we got to ride this ride in one hour. When i questioned the ride operater, she said that's because it keeps bracking down they post long waiting times because they're not sure how long it will be. Boy were we lucky. The ride was great. I'm glad I didn't wait four hours because the whole ride takes 17seconds. It is so fast. I'm glad I got to ride the fastest, tallest roller coaster in the world!
