Top things to bring into Disney Parks

I used to bring a big backpack with all kinds of stuff in it. Now we go bag free and it so liberating. No bag check. I bring my Magic Band, phone, and a little cash. That's it. We do have lanyards that hold a water bottle that some of us wear. We have found that there is nothing that we have needed that couldn't be found in the parks.

This year will be our last with a stroller, and my children aren't doing autograph books. So we will be doing a few bagless days, especially the party.

We bring: One bottle of water (unless someone is not feeling 100%) and we refill as needed, a few granola bars or fruit snacks (for long line waits), cellphone (what we use for pics), small amount of cash ( we charge most to our room and pay off nightly). That's it! We buy Disney ponchos if we find we need them, at that point we then add them to the bottom of the stroller the rest of the trip! Oh and lip balm and travel size sunscreen (my youngest burns in the winter lol). And of course their 3 trading pins they are allowed per day!

Once again thanks for all the replies so quickly, this website is the best I've found yet for Disney! All of you seem to have really good ideas that I will probably use when I go down!
Thanks for all the help, I'm sure I'll be posting again once I think of another question to ask lol

I take VERY little into the parks!!! CC, DL, AP, lip balm, some cash, cell phone OR camera--not both. Using shorts pockets enables me to go bagless.

Only adult with two children so I don’t travel too light. I’m not fond of buying stuff in the park I could have brought with me. I left our $1.50 travel size sunscreen in the hotel room once on a Sea World trip and paid $10 for a tube the same size. :sad2:

Over the years, I’ve gotten down from a huge backpack with 3 sections to a drawstring bag just from my son getting older.

In the bag
Tiny first aid kit
Pain reliever
Wet wipes
Hand sanitizer
Small snacks
Travel size sunscreen
Lip balm
Camera
phone

In the bag until we get off the bus, then into the parent console on the stroller.
Misting fan
Bottled water
Autograph books/pens

Bottom of the stroller
Change of clothes for ds
Rain gear (stroller cover, rain jackets for the children, poncho for me)

Our lanyards have small wallets attached where I keep my ID, insurance card, debit card and cash.

I also attach a miniature personal fan to mine and my daughter’s lanyard.

this is what I take:

small wallet thingy that has credit card, ID, TIW card, DVC member card, AP card and some cash. Yes even though I have a magic band.
Phone
Sometimes a camera. The phone can work as a camera.
Umbrella (for rain and shade)
Sometimes a reusable water bottle, I don't purchase water
Portable charger for phone, plus cord
Some Ibuprofen (although you can get it at the first aid)
Bandaids for feet (those are available at first aid too)
Lip balm
I use sunscreen wipes. will usually bring one along.
sunglasses & case
For Star Wars weekends I'm going to throw a towel in there. To sit on while waiting for parade.

The best park days are the days you leave everything in your room except your park tickets, your room key and a mode to pay for things. I just described a MB.

Just to mention when people say "first aid kit" or something similar, there are first aid stations in every single Disney park, water or otherwise. So you can leave those items back in the room and just go to the stations if needed. Also, if there is a serious injury and you don't feel comfortable moving the "victim", just ask the nearest Cast member to get attention. We were once in the very back of Epcot and my husband had an incident of a now diagnosed problem. He was limping extremely badly. A Cast Member offered to get him a wheelchair and when he refused (we were surprised), she brought out a chair and went to get a cup of water for him.

Hand sanitizer. Sometimes my hands just feel gross after touching ride bars and door handles and there's no time for a bathroom break. Sold everywhere in the real world, but surprisingly hard to find in Disney World!

I’m aware; but my first aid kit goes into my bag wherever we go (zoo, other amusement park, sporting event, park at home to play). I travel with it; so it's nothing to drop it into my park bag at Disney. It’s just easier to have it and it’s like a 2x2 inch little box so takes up little room. Being the only adult traveling with a little child and a big one with drama queen tendencies, I’d rather have it on me.

A few days into our last trip I realized that I really didn't need to carry a bag with me. I used my Magic Band for everything, and my phone for taking pictures. Next time we go I'll probably leave the backpack at home. I've considered getting a very small belt bag (aka cuter version of a fanny pack) to carry the few "extras" I might need like a backup phone battery, Tylenol and band aids.

under no circumstances would I go anywhere at WDW without an ID and some cash at the very least. NOT just with the magic band. Of course if I want to use my TIW card I have to carry that, if I want discounts I have to bring my AP card, so I'm carrying all that anyway.

sometimes you need a band aid and you are a long long way from the first aid station. Try walking there across the park on a blister if you didn't have to.

Did not read every post, so don't know if it was already mentioned, but I carry a Ziploc bag to put our phones and camera in when we do attractions where we might get wet.

Great ideas! We'd love to cut down the backpack that DH normally carries when we go to WDW later this year. I normally carry my camera, too, which is quite bulky. I want to find a better bag for carrying it, too.

Trading Pins! Phone/camera. ID, cash, drink packets to add to free ice water, water bottle on carrying strap, ponchos if it's calling for rain, more pins, hand sanitizer (I make my own with essential oils), hat, mickey ears, snacks if you aren't on dining plan or not eating at every meal time. Lastly, more trading pins.

I have to bring ponchos. Cease if I do, it won't rain. If I leave them in the hotel, it will always rain.

This!!!

I only take a small cross body bag: sunglasses on my head, cell phone, camera, money, hand sanitizer!!!!!! and Kleenex. Dining reservation numbers written on a post-it as backup in case mde goes down.

Stroller bag: ponchos, sunscreen, wet wipes, wipes, kid change of clothes, towel (put that over stroller while in stroller parking to keep it cool and to easily spot ours)

Just back from our first trip without a bag. It was great not having to carry anything around. I wore shorts with pockets and had moneyclip with some cash (never used it all went on magic band), credit card (never used it), insurance card (never used it!!!!) tables in wonderland card, annual pass card, photo ID. Small travel sunscreen for reapplication so my daughter and mine bright white arms and legs didn't become cherry red, lip balm, phone, small ziplock with 1 aleve 2 advil and to put phone and money clip in when on water rides and after water rides (man did I get the short end of the stick on Kali this trip, every dang ride I was the one that was drenched).

This is me - almost exactly except I have a tiny "coin purse" that holds the cards and money - and I add a string of dental floss in with the Advil and sometimes take a single wet one. And I do add a small camera that attaches to the waistband of my shorts (old phone, doesn't take great pictures).

Ladies cargo shorts are non-existent/a joke anymore - but I did find a men's version by Columbia Sportwear that fits me great. Sometimes I even put an emergency poncho in the back pocket.

I'd it worth bringing water? I have geRd you can get it free from kiosks?
I bring ONE disposable water bottle with me in the morning - maybe refill it a couple times - but then recycle it later in the day when I am tired of carrying it. Then I switch to free cups of water. They let you take a water BOTTLE on a ride, but they won't let you take a CUP (even empty). I have a small water bottle carrier that will attach to the belt loop of shorts - so sometimes I bring that.
