Top things to bring into Disney Parks

As two 30-something adults, we bring wallets, cell phones, magic bands, lip balm, and a small pill case of excedrin/heartburn meds. No bag check for us! We put high-SPF sunscreen on in the morning before we head out, and if it rains, we just get wet.

Maybe there is a better thread to ask; but what are the best sorts of not-backpack bags you all use? I love my back pack- its super lightweight and pretty and I can stuff it to the brim and not worry about rips but we've always gone in the winter. I'm now planning my first trip in early September and am worried being outside waiting for the bus is going to be too much for me; let alone lugging anything. I'm from Northern New England, so the heat isn't something I'm accustomed to.

Any help is appreciated!

I bring a softside brita filter water bottle and sunscreen.
We also bring ponchos if the forecast is calling for rain at all. That's pretty much it.. lol

Shorts with pockets, so you don't have to go thru the bag line.

I actually have cargo capris and shorts that I only wear on vacation, so I can go bagless 90% of the time. They may not be the most fashionable choice, but they are definitely the most functional choice.

I typically carry a small wallet with ID, insurance cards, AP (for discounts) and cash. I also carry a few individually packaged Wet Ones so I can wash right before eating anything (not always convenient to find a restroom to wash hands if you stop at a snack cart). I carry my iPod Touch for access to MDE. If I take a regular camera, it's on a strap and I carry an extra battery in my pocket. That is pretty much it. I use a long lasting sunscreen in the room before I leave, and I buy a cold drink rather than carrying warm bottles of water with me.

If there is a chance of rain between 30-50%, I may carry a compact umbrella to use just to get to a building to take shelter. When the rain outlook is that low, it usually doesn't rain for long. If the rain chance is higher, especially from November through April when our rain is tied to weather fronts and may last all day, I will carry a very small crossbody bag that just holds my nylon poncho. I would say I carry the poncho very rarely.

I have a small cross body bag and I keep the following in it . . . tiny first aid kit including Advil, Tums, pre-cut Moleskin for blisters (all of the above in a snack size ziplock bag), a very small pared down fabric wallet, a printout of my ADR times & reservation numbers (I have had to show this a few times when they couldn't find my ressie in the computer & had to comb through their paper backup), my FP+ times (wi-fi isn't 100% in the parks) and emerg contact tel numbers, photocopy of my passport info page (I am CDN), my itouch with the above info on it via My Dis Experience app, a cheap folded rain poncho from the dollar store, hand sanitizer attached with the rubber clip, kleenex and a half litre rollup Platypus soft sided water bottle. I have a rolled up drybag that I can pull over the entire cross body bag if it pours rain or if I go on a water ride. The cross body bag fits perfectly in most ride nets or I can keep it on under the restraint. Yes, I have to go through the bag search line but I have the bag unzipped, ready for inspection & it rarely takes more than 3 mins to get through. Of course, the bag is no longer available (bought it through Canadian MEC (like REI) years ago) but there are similar-sized bags available on amazon, etc by Lug, Travelon. I have done the cargo shorts/capris route before & while it worked perfectly well most days, there was always a day when Murphy's Law kicked in & I didn't have what I needed. Yes, you can buy most essentials in the park . . . but at 5x the price or more and this galls when you know you left what you needed back in the room. There is no perfect system. It's whatever works for you. Trial & error is inevitable.

Ok here we go! I just got back so I think I can give some sound advice!

Food and Snacks:
I can't believe what Disney charges for things. I'm not stingy with my money just smart...the prices for some of the food compared what you can just take in. I ask for cups of ice and bring my own soda in...I just didn't think outside of DINING it wasn't worth it. The bag check takes 20 seconds...

SUNSCREEN:
Please protect yourself from the sun I saw big lobsters walking around he park trust me it's already a lot to walk in DISNEY but to be hot and tired and burnt yuck!

Magic bands
If your not staying at a Disney resort s bring them nothing beats not having to dig in my wallet everytime I want to enter the park, get my photopass and use fast pass. Please don't listen to the whining on here the Magic Bands are essentials for not consistently digging in your pocket and ease

Courtisey and Respect
Remember it's your vacation and others as well treat people nicely and you'll get the same in return...make sure you go out of your way to hold open the door, let children go first on things and just put your smile on ...the happier you are the happier your vacation will be

Other than that your essentials phone, wallet and identification in your wallet ect

Whatever you want to bring is fine, but, be sure that you have brought...

1) your inner child
2) make sure you have the key to letting him/her out.
3) lot's of money
4) lot's of patience
5) lot's of joy
6) lot's of foot cream

That should get you through (especially #3).

When I go in summer,I have to bring sunscreen. I just can't get by with putting it on in the morning and assuming it will last all day-- I burn too easily! Therefore, I have to also bring a small lightweight backpack, which I kind of like because then I can throw my souvenirs in there, too.
