Top Secret Pixie Dust! A Surprise 13th Birthday PTR! NEW! TRIP REPORT LINK PAGE 220!

Jackie! I tried to post yesterday, but the page wouldn't load. I've been trying to catch up to everyone. Glad you had a nice Easter. The gorillas look so fun! They are pretty smart.
I saw the Vera bag, I saw Chelsea trying to convince you to be booked, saw your CBR plans, then I see you are at the beach? :confused3 I can't find what happened to the surprise. If you don't want to repeat, what page is it on. I'm so confused. Did Chelsea actually turn down Disney on her birthday? Is she really your daughter? :rotfl2:

Hello friend!

Your zoo outing looked like a lot of fun! I bet it was a hoot watching those gorillas look for the eggs.

So I read your postings....are you counting out the Disney trip this year, or adding that to your shore trip? I think the beach trip sounds lovely - and like you said, you still get in your Disney fix. It looks gorgeous! :lovestruc

Why is she looking so much like a teenager???
She is such a beautiful girl, Jackie!

These guys are so powerful. One slap would send a person across the room!

What a fun day you got to have. Thanks for sharing it with us. :)

What a neat adventure!! I'm not big on zoos & zoo animals, but I think that's something I would even go for. And I love the detailed descriptions of what they did-such as acting like the egg wasn't there to fool the others! Sounds like cats and dogs :rotfl2:.

Looking forward to more pictures!!!!!

maybe that's why i love them so much....i'm envious because sometimes i wanna do that to attorneys who talk too much! :lmao:

That has got to be one of the cutest things I have ever seen! They were to much! Ms Chelsea is looking older and very pretty!

Chelsea is growing up waaaaay too fast. So is Connor for that matter.

What a neat thing for the Zoo to do. Lucky gorillas!

LOVE the gorilla pics! thanks for sharing. i'm gonna put this on my calendar next year to remind myself to check into going. i've never even been to zoo atlanta so we can make a day of it! :thumbsup2

The zoo is really neat and very easy to get to -- if I can successfully navigate my way there without having a nervous breakdown (I hate driving into Atlanta), then anybody can do it.

That is the cutest thing ever!! I would have loved to see the gorillas hunt for eggs. :goodvibes We have a membership to our zoo (it was only $45 for the entire family for the year!!) and we love to go hang out for an hour or so (it's not all that big).

Enjoy your spring break! :goodvibes

Only $45??? What a bargain! The memberships at our zoo are about $100 which is why, although I thought about it, decided against getting one.

Okay, now that sounds so fun! I laughed looking at the pics and so did Landon! Lol. Jackie, Chelsea is really looking like a teenager these days. Wow! She's very pretty! ;) I'm just trying to watch and learn from you so I will know what to do with Madi. She didn't go through the terrible two's but is now going through the terrible three's. Oh my!!! :scared1:

It was very funny to watch those gorillas in action! Chelsea has changed so much in the last year, it's amazing! I always thought the three's were much worse than the two's!

I wonder who discovered that gorillas like Jello? It seems like such an odd thing :confused3 Looks like fun!

I hadn't thought about that -- makes you wonder what else those gorillas have tried.

WOW! A gorilla egg hunt? That is AWESOME :thumbsup2

It was a lot of fun!

I love the idea of a Gorilla egg hunt! I know our zoo freezes fruit in huge blocks of ice in the summer for a cool treat, but I dont think they do an egg hunt. something to look into!

Fruit popsicles sound good, too! :thumbsup2

Looks like a fun day at the zoo!

We had a great time until the end of the day when Connor decided he had enough -- but I will get to that later.

The pictures of the Gorilla hunt were fun. It might be something DH and I can do next year. We usually visit the zoo for a day once a year. This might be a fun day to try next year.

It was very neat! I would definitely recommend going!

I love the gorilla photos. What a fun event at Zoo Atlanta. I definitely need to visit Atlanta and the zoo :) I really love the photo of the after photo of the gorilla resting. That's how I felt after Easter dinner :lmao:

Me too! :lmao: You could come visit and do the zoo, aquarium, and World of Coke.

That gorilla egg hunt looked like so much fun! I wonder who came up with that idea - brilliant!

It was one of the funniest things I have ever watched animals do -- the gorillas were just like humans looking for their eggs.

what a great way to spend Easter!! The gorilla egg hunt is sooooo cute! You got great pics!! I love that pic of the gorilla that buried himself in the hay and just sat there! So Cute!! Thanks for sharing and Happy belated Easter!!

Us too! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: This tired teacher is ready for summer vacation!

Just thirty more school days for us!

:rotfl2: Oh my word, that picture is just too funny!! I love watching the gorillas. They are just amazing creatures! :)

They are amazing -- watching them made me want to become Diane Fossey!

That looks like alot of fun. I was feeling alot like that gorilla at the end of day yesterday too. Ate way too much!

I was thinking of you this weekend. I was at the fabric store looking through pattern books, and there was a girl in one of them who looked exactly like Chelsea. Very freaky! She has a twin out there.

That is very funny about the girl who looks like Chelsea. Now I am going to have to browse through the pattern books to see if I can spot her.

The gorilla egg hunt is hillarious!! Sounds like a really fun day!

It was and the weather was just perfect -- not too hot with a nice breeze.

That is too funny that they do a gorilla egg hunt. I love how sneaky they are. They always look funny to me with such short legs and long arms.

Those gorillas did not want the others to know when they found an egg.

Wow, what a cool way to start off your spring break!:thumbsup2

I wish the Bronx Zoo did something like that because I'd totally be there!

Our zoo does a lot of neat things, but we don't make it down there very often.

Sounded like a great Easter Day outing what fun! Nathan (Michael) would have gotten the biggest kick out of the Gorilla Egg hunt...I will have to show him your pic's

Connor was in stitches watching those gorillas especially when they were hunting for eggs and wrestling each other.

The gorilla Easter egg hunt looks like so much fun! I love that they would be sneaky when they'd find one. :rotfl:

They did not want the others to see them finding the treats.

I had no idea the zoo does a gorilla egg hunt! I'm definitely remembering that for next year. :thumbsup2

Are you signed up for the Zoo Atlanta newsletter? That's where I read about it -- the description said it was the Fourth Annual but it was the first time I had come across it.

Jackie! I tried to post yesterday, but the page wouldn't load. I've been trying to catch up to everyone. Glad you had a nice Easter. The gorillas look so fun! They are pretty smart.

Somewhere I posted something about the entire family was voting for a beach vacation. I am not sure where it was -- I am not even sure why everyone changed their mind -- I think it was Chelsea who spearheaded the beach discussion. She loves Disney, but she loves the beach, too, and I think she decided we needed some sand in our lives.

Hi, Katie! It was hilarious watching those gorillas!

Counting out Disney for the summer, but Charles and I have started talking about a possible Food and Wine trip. :rolleyes1

Why is she looking so much like a teenager???
She is such a beautiful girl, Jackie!

Thank you, MeMom! Chelsea has changed so much in the last year -- I went and pulled out pictures of her from this time last year, and the difference is amazing!

These guys are so powerful. One slap would send a person across the room!

What a fun day you got to have. Thanks for sharing it with us. :)

Their power is amazing. Watching the one climb that tree to get his egg awed me. They are so muscular!

If you ever decide to make a weekend of it in Atlanta to meet Trent and Jamie, I would love to meet you all at the zoo. It's a lot of fun!

While not quite the Animal Kingdom, our zoo is quite nice, and the gorillas were so fascinating to watch.

maybe that's why i love them so much....i'm envious because sometimes i wanna do that to attorneys who talk too much! :lmao:

:rotfl2: I think we all have moments like that in our jobs. The bigger gorilla was just flinging the little ones off of him when they were wrestling. :rotfl:

That has got to be one of the cutest things I have ever seen! They were to much! Ms Chelsea is looking older and very pretty!

It was the highlight of our Easter weekend. I am glad Michelle and I decided to go ahead and take the kids.

Thank you! Chelsea seems to be growing up overnight. It's a bit scary!

Chelsea is growing up waaaaay too fast. So is Connor for that matter.

What a neat thing for the Zoo to do. Lucky gorillas!

Yes, she is! I can't get over how much she has changed in just the last year. Connor is getting taller, but he still seems like a little boy to me.

Those gorillas were loving their Jello eggs!

what a great way to spend Easter!! The gorilla egg hunt is sooooo cute! You got great pics!! I love that pic of the gorilla that buried himself in the hay and just sat there! So Cute!! Thanks for sharing and Happy belated Easter!!

Happy Easter to you, too! That gorilla was cracking us up!

I think it was a Simplicity book, in the costume section. I'm drawing a blank on what kind of costume though. They could have been twins. :)

That there was funny, I don't care who you are!! :rotfl2:

So when I saw the photos of the gorillas I was laughing :lmao: Jello eggs, WHO would have thought??!!

BUT when I saw the photo of Chelsea sportin' her eyeliner, at least it looked like there was a smidgen there... I started humming... "I love rock and roll..." something about Joan Jett, wasn't it? ;)

Very cute she is! Looks like a 9th grader. Oh. Is she going to be one of those next year...

Hope Spring Break is treating you well -- I promise to take some pics of my Egyptian treats this week! I forgot you had been to the King Tut exhibit last year!!!

Our Primary Sunday School teacher always gives out jello eggs to the kids easter weekend. I can't say the kids are any better behaved than the Gorillas. The funny thing is that my kids hate jello but fall over backwards for these jello eggs. :confused3

Those gorillas seemed intrigued by the eggs. It also seems like they are a bit more active than the ones at AK....wonder why?

I'll flip through the Simplicity book the next time I am there!

I wish I had gotten video of it!

So when I saw the photos of the gorillas I was laughing :lmao: Jello eggs, WHO would have thought??!!

I never would have guessed that gorillas were partial to Jello eggs.

:rotfl: I sing "I love rock and roll" all the time these days! Every morning, in fact. :lmao: Thankfully Chelsea is only in the 7th grade. I still have a year and a half (double yikes) before high school.

Hope Spring Break is treating you well -- I promise to take some pics of my Egyptian treats this week! I forgot you had been to the King Tut exhibit last year!!!

It's treating me quite nicely, thank you. :goodvibes Although, I must admit that I am spending entirely too much time playing and not enough time tackling the projects I had planned. Somehow it just seems more fun to build Toy Story Legos with Connor than clean out the closets.

Yes, please do post pics of your Egyptian goodies -- I love all things Egyptian -- in my next life I plan on being an archeologist. :thumbsup2

:lmao: That's too funny! Wait until you hear the story of Connor with the Jello eggs later that night at my MIL's. ;)

Those gorillas seemed intrigued by the eggs. It also seems like they are a bit more active than the ones at AK....wonder why?

I have never had good luck with the gorillas at Animal Kingdom -- they are always asleep when I see them, but it is usually 100 degrees out, too. It was also feeding time at our zoo when they put the eggs out -- maybe they perk up when food is involved...
