Thank you Danny25!! This is the news I have been waiting weeks for, and now that I am just under the 80 day mark for my vacation, payment was coming due soon! This way we can change our dates from early September to late October, when we originally wanted to go! My son's 3rd birthday falls within our free dining dates! Hooray!!!!!

Danny25 Thank you soooo much for the wonderful news! We had to cancel our trip last year because our daughter had been diagnosed with leukemia so our trip this year (Oct.30-Nov.7) is going to be extra special and now we may be able to upgrade to deluxe!

So this is fantastic news. I'm introducing my brother's family and parents in law to Disney this December and have booked packages without dining for all of us just waiting for free dining! Do I have to add the dining package before free dining comes out in order to get it or can I call on the 12th and add it to the packages at that time? BTW....THANKS, Danny25!!!!!!

I thought last year you were covered if you checked in the Friday before Thanksgiving-looks like you need to check in by Thursday this year

Well...it WAS on the the DDP brochure under the "Some Great Tips" section at the beginning of the year, but now it isn't.

I know it was there because it was talked about quite a bit here on the boards. I'll dig around and see what I can find.

HI this is the FD offer that will be at July 12 not guessing at all,

This is such GREAT news! Every day my husband asks me "have they announced free dining yet"? lol......We already have a room PIN but I'll happily give that up for the FD. We're paying for the DDP at the moment. I have my phone alarm set for July 12 already

We were supposed to fly in on Dec8-Dec15 but when the PIN offer came out for FD I modified my reservation for Dec 10-17 just so we wouldn't have to do it later

It was the Thursday in 2010. I know because I had to change my dates. I am pretty sure it was Thursday last year as well.

This is such wonderful news! We are checking in on the 10/3, and this will make our first tip to WDW that little bit sweeter! I just have a few newbie questions?

We already have our MYW package booked and paid for in full - we did not include the DDP in the hopes FD would be released. When it is released, is it just a matter of calling Disney and asking them to add it to the reservation? Does it matter if I call them as soon as the lines open that day? (which I think will be quite late at night over here).

Yep, all you need to do is call and ask if the discount can he applied to your current reservation. The closer to 7am EST you can call, the better your odds of getting the discount applied.

You have been able to use ts for cs for awhile now. We did it in 2009 and 2011 due to illness and not making our adr.

Last year when the offer first came out, the Friday before Thanksgiving was included. About 2 weeks after being out, that date was removed from the offer.

I know this for a fact as we went during that time last year and checked in on that Friday because of the free dining. I actually got the info from here to call on the first day the offer became valid and I was so happy I did when I saw that the Friday had been removed from the offer a couple of weeks later.

This year we are going with two other families (which it will be their first trip) and we just decided today that we will check in on the Thursday because it saves each family so much money. I really hate the thought of taking the kids out of school for 2 days, but the benefit to those families is just too much to pass up.

It had always been up to the discretion of the CMs on duty (mainly it was only allowed at the resorts,not in the parks), but this year they actually put it in writing as being acceptable property-wide. Of course, now that writing has disappeared.
