This is his first trip to disney. I have a 6PM ADR for Chef Mickeys but now I'm wondering if something like WCC would be better. Are there any others that someone his age would love?

We don't have any other character meals planned. I'm just not sure how he's going to feel about dining with the characters. He did say he would get his pictures taken with characters. I'm just not sure if he would consider a character meal a highlight.

Obviously princesses would be an issue but I think the mickey characters and maybe pooh characters would be atleast not bothersome and it is cheaper than a lot of non character sit down meals. Chef Mickey is probably a good choice. WCC is great - my 5 and 7 year olds loved it and when asked which restaurant was their favorite it is very often mentioned. But thinking of my brothers about that age a lot of the antics would just have embarassed them. THe screaming for ketchup would have had one of my brothers running for ketchup and no way they would have joined in the pony races etc with those little kids. How about breakfast with lilo and stitch at ohana's in the polynesian or the crystal palace that has pooh characters all day. There are also the dinner shows hoop de doo and i cant remember the other one but it is a luau(sp?). Concourse steakhouse is good but i dont think it is much as far as kid entertainment - it's just a steakhouse at Disney.

Also if you eat early you can travel over to ft wilderness and do the campfire/movie/roasting marshmellow thing - i think chip and dale are there?

I love Chef Mickey's. It's such a *Disney* experience. Even my DH, who isn't such a fan of commotion during meals, got into it with the napkin twirling and posing with the characters. Such fun. :)

I would recommend WCC. My 11-year old son had a blast there. We had Lazy Susan as our waitress and she paid extra special attention to him. He laughed the entire time we were there. It was loud and a long meal but well worth it to him. It was a great chance for him to play and goof around while eating.

We also went to the Luau. He enjoyed some of it. The dances at the end are really neat. It's 2 table services if you are on the dining plan however.

I hope you enjoy whatever you choose.

Chef Mickey's is a very fun restaurant. When we were there, the character interaction was kind of limited. The restaurant was very crowded, and they seemed to just be moving around very quickly, taking pictures and then going right to the next table. A lot of people wouldn't like this, but that might be good for you, if he isn't too excited about spending lots of time with characters.

We took our kids to WCC when they were younger, and they absolutely hated it. It depends on the personality of your child I guess. My sons didn't enjoy the server's antics at all, and we couldn't wait to get out of there. We stay away from there now, simply because their "harassment" when you're eating. We don't find it fun, and if your son isn't really interested in characters I would doubt that he'll enjoy that.

I have an 11 year old son and asked the same ? awhile back and most answers were WCC or ohana's- I went with Ohana's for some reason- Oh so we could see Wishes afterward- we are doing Donald's breakfast one moring b/f AK- I read alot of great things about Chef Mickeys so he'll have fun I'm sure!!

We went to Chef Mickey's last year with DS10, DD8 and DD7. We were really going because we thought the girls would enjoy it and figured DS would "suffer through". Imagine our surprise to discover he really enjoyed it and has specifically requested it again this year. He had not previously voiced or showed any interest in the characters prior to our trip and we had no idea how he would be at the character meals.

We have some of the cutest pictures of him with Pluto and Goofy. I guess I'm just saying you never know with children.
