Top of World Lounge @ BLT-DVC....

Hi everyone Just wondering if anyone here as of yet has asked their DFTW planner about possibly booking Top of the World Lounge at BLT ?

.....the buzz over on DVC boards among us members is newly opened BLT and Top of the World lounge and although BLT isn't sold out yet, it is being reported that the lounge isn't coming anywhere near close to capacity during evening & particularly during Wishes when it was expected members staying at BLT would be showing up in numbers ( in fact there's a post today that last evening there was less than 10 people there ) so lots of speculating that it will probably go the way of The Attic sooner than most thought & be used for private events.

It would be interesting to see a wedding up there- i wonder if they will let people use it for weddings.. hmm!

Oooh I think that would be a really lovely way to see Wishes - so long as the decor etc is nice. I would certainly be interested in something like that!

I think it's too early to speculate Top of the World becoming another "attic" b/c the current numbers are skewed since it is currently only open for DVC members staying at BLT. That is limiting in itself. Until they open it to all DVC members on property or all guests they won't know how popular it truly is and/or if it should be reserved for private parties only. I think it'll be awhile before anything will be determined. Just my opinion...

I would agree that it is probably too soon to tell, and they very well may need to give access to all members staying on property to sustain it....but in POS it is noted that it is not part of the condo ( or however DVD technically refers to BLT ) so they can do what they want with it as soon as they want and that will all come down to $. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great if they make it available for private events because it is an amazing location & has a very nice interior decor but I hope that they'd at least have it open as well on the evenings when there's not private bookings, unlike what they ultimately did with the Attic which isn't available to any guest unless they've booked a private event there.

Completely agreed. But I do think Top of the World is more appealing to the masses than The Attic. The attic is definitely a hidden gem for private events (we had our rehearsal dinner there) but its vibe is totally not that of a bar/lounge aka $$ maker. And b/c of that I would think if TOTW ever became a "private event space" that it still would be open on other nights. I mean-- look how often CG's bar is packed to watch wishes-- some of that overflow would go to TOTW. ( I would) So time will tell on this one.

Fingers crossed hope to book BLT for our next trip so we can check it out, would love to see Wishes from there especially since I would prefer not to use extra points to book MK view villa.

Good Luck. As long as you're DVC you'll get to visit the lounge at BLT! Whoo-hoo. (It def can be a waste of points for certain views - Depends on the resort & what your taste is I've noticed) Could you point me towards the chatter about the TOTWL on the DVC boards.... I can't seem to find it.

According to my DVC guide it is only for use for those staying at BLT and will not be rented out for events at this time.

it would be awesome for a dessert party. I would do it in a second. I think they'll evaluate it for a few more months before considering it though. They'll also open up to all dvc point users before doing so. Because as soon as they close it for private parties. Everyone will want to use it and they'll get letters and calls to no end that it's not open anymore.

We asked about this about a month ago, we got a straight 'NO' from DFTW, so we're just going to stick with the Napa Room. Lovely venue though, so exclusive! (at the moment)
