Top of the World Lounge

We are DVC members going in July using points to stay BLT, will we need to make reservations to go up to the Lounge? Is the lounge and the roof considered same? :confused3

No reservations required. You get to the outside viewing area through the lounge.

When we stayed at BLT in Oct. They asked to see our room key and blue membership card. You have to check in at the front desk. They escort you to a special elevator which they use a special key to take you up to the lounge.

Was the same in Nov and just a note but it was a pain to go from lour room on the 6th floor to the lobby just to go back up on the elevator. It also takes away one elevator in the middle part of the building for general use.

That's a grey area indeed. we we're going to make our children (young adults0 associate members, but if that is the case that they don't have all the "perks" of membership then i think well pass for now.

On our other trips, DVC Member was on our key, so we were able to get the restaurant discounts and stuff (even though they are supposed to ask for the blue card). My in-laws are taking a tour in March that we bought for them. They were told to bring the card to show to get the discount, even though I've already paid for it using the discount. No big deal, but that's something I wouldn't try without the actual card.

But if the key does not indicate, we may be out of luck. That's disappointing.

Nope, no more "DVC member" on the KTTW.

In December we found inconsistencies on which resorts still printed "DVC Member" on the cards.

Resorts that had been converted to the new software showed "DVC Member". Resorts that had not been converted like BCV and BWV did not show "DVC Member" on the primary Guests KTTW card, but it did on all others who were on the reservation. :confused3

Sorry for the stupid question but we are staying at BLT in August but are paying for the room, not staying on our points. But we are DVC members. Can we still go to the TOTWL?

Ofcourse a little flaw in the system is if your staying on the top floor you automatically have access to the TOTWL. Learned this on our 1st stay at BLT. And now its not a little know fact!!!!

FWIW I am at BWV, having checked in Jan 4 (and still here). ;)
My card says "DVC Room Only" with "Member" not shown anywhere. All cards (primary and other guests) have the same wording.

The card also shows "A04" as I have 4 adults on the reservation, no DDP.

This was as of Jan 4--dont know if KTTW cards have changed any since then.

If you are staying on a cash reservation made through MS, then yes. If it is a cash reservation through CRO, then no, you won't be given access.

I was wrong, the new "DVC Member" designation is DVC Room Only. They dropped the word Member but it still means the same. The data comes from the new software and is the same as what you see when you do online check in or verify your reservation online.
