Have not seem anyone mention Top of the World lately,
has it been busy? I hope to get up there late Sep ( on a Thursday night) do you think I will have any trouble getting up?
Thanks

I was wondering about this as well......How limited is the space?

Other than around NYE's, I have not read of any of the nights being busy at all. And even what I read about NYE's, it wasn't full.

So, you should not have any problem going up to the lounge or to the observation deck to watch the fireworks, assuming you are staying at BLT on points or cash booked through MS.

We were at BLT for a fairly busy spring break week. 15 minutes prior to Wishes, there was no one else on the viewing deck other than the security guard. The Lounge was maybe half full. By the time Wishes started, maybe 30 people were on the deck with us. It was very windy out there.

We have been several times and the place is never even 1/4 full. It's safe to say that when DVD no longer wishes to use TOTWL as a sales tool, Disney will open it up to other Guests.

We stopped by during our June 13 vacation as well as our July 4 trip. The lounge will have a few people during the fireworks and that's it. I stopped by a couple of times around 11:00pm and was the only person in the whole bar. It's safe to say the Top of the World Lounge will not be around long. If DVC would put a full service restaurant up there, I think business would improve dramatically. Other than the fireworks, there is no reason to go up to the lounge.

My prediction is: When DVC finally sells out BLT, there will no longer be a Top of the World Lounge. I'm saying two more years until it sells out and TOTWL is history.

We had dinner up there (several different appetizers) on July 13th & we were the only family up there around 6pm. We went back for the fireworks, drinks, more appeitzers etc. & there were probably 30 people there - not crowded at all.

**Bartender Brucie is wonderful to talk with!!

I can't understand why they don't open it to all DVC members - yes it's a good selling point for BLT but if it's always empty there will be no atmosphere and so not a good place to spend time.

By limiting it to DVC members it should ensure it doesn't get overcrowded.

for the same reason that BCV is the only DVC resort that is allowed to use SALB.

besides the place itself has atmosphere.

love it!!!

hope DVC gets to kept it even after BLT sells out - but yea can definitely see smaller parties/receptions being there. got told when they tried to set up tables outside the wind was too strong.

of course that is just the lounge part - maybe we could still use the deck.

I just got back from my CR/BLT vacation and agree they should serve dinner up there. OP, you won't have any trouble going up as long as it says "DVC Member" on your room key.

The view is nice but nothing special. I doubt if they get many repeat visitors. Would DVC Members really go there from where ever they are staying to see a 15 minute show? What would be the impact on transportation and parking?
