Top 5 Tips

Cruz Family-thanks so much for the tips. I wouldn't have thought about a hamper. The boys have a small one in their room that I'd empty (wash the clothes) before we leave. We're going to need all of the space saving tips we can find for Sept with 3 adults and 2 kids in a value room....any hotel room is too small for that many people! :rotfl:

Get disposable cameras (1 for each day) for your DS to take pictures of his memories. He will love the opportunity to take his own pictures from his point of view. Then help him make a scrapbook of his trip when you get home.

Go to Superpets or a Mega pet store and make a Dog Tag with your name and cell phone number on it and hook it in his shoe laces in case you get lost from him. Tell him to go to a cast member or another Mommy--if Mommy and Daddy get lost and to show them his shoe tag.

1. Rope drop

5. I gotta go against the group here and say I hardly EVER go to a park when there is EMH. Reverse pyschology--go where everybody else isn't.

YMMV

I am finally planning on trying these two tips this year!:thumbsup2

After 20 or so trips without kids we learned Disney with kids is a whole different beast.

1. Naps or breaks are a must or dinner is usually a total disaster.

2. As said before let the kids lead. My son loved world showcase he was 18mo, 23mo and 35mo on our trips. Making the masks was truely so much fun for him. He still has them and plays with them.

3. Plan only one TS per day. More than that is just to much.

4. Last trip my sons favorite thing was the pop up fountains at DTD. He played in those fountains for about an hour with a few other kids. Everyone acted like we were nuts for letting him get dreanched. I had to buy a $20 towel and he rode home on the bus naked in the towel but he had so much fun. Take a towel to DTD and a change of clothes.

5. Slow Down. You will have many years to see and do everything. Park commando is not possible with little ones.

disposable bibs and sippy cups are a must
clear plastic cover for the stroller
have fun!!!!

a lot of these have be covered, but it might help someone else too
1. avoid disney transportation
2. avoid disney transportation
3. avoid disney transportation
4. avoid disney transportation
5. avoid disney transportation

Ironically I applied for the spring college program to be in...transporation.

Sorry, I just had to get my point across

ok seriously now
1. avoid disney transportation(you have that covered)
2. stop and smell the roses! There is SO MUCH theming to everything. Take the time to enjoy all the little things and the unique things.
3. see the shows! it kills me how people hop ride to ride at the expense of some awesome shows. Illuminations, Fantasmic, Wishes, spectro, DCT parade are all not to be missed!
4. get to the parks early but I disagree with others. Stay away from the EMH parks with early magic hours. if AK has early magic hours, go to MK as soon as it opens instead. This strategy worked extremely well the week of Christmas so I can imagine in September it should work 10 fold.
5. Do either the hoop de doo or a character dining experience

It's partially been mentioned before, but FPs are valid anytime after your window begins, as long as it's still the same day!

Do not line up early for your FP window! This entirely defeats the purpose...(and yes the CMs laugh at you...). Also, if your window has begun, do not assume that line of foolish people(see above) is something you too must wait in! Find the CM, flash your ticket, and be on your way :)

FPs for shows are typically not included in your FP lock-out time. You can also get a ride FP while holding a show FP. This is especially important for LMA! Shows are the only time it may be a good idea to line up with a FP.

If you have FPs with 2 different times for the same attraction within your party, you can enter at the earliest time shown on any of the tickets (i.e. say Dad has 3:15-3:45 ticket and everyone else has a 3:45-4:15 ticket, you can all go in at 3:15...or of course any time after).

That is enough in the FP tip dept... I'll think of more tips and come back! Hopefully these are useful for someone.

I don't know if these are my TOP five, but here are five (some are repeats from PPs):

1. PLAN. Use TourGuideMike or similar services, which are worth the $20 you pay. Be aware of where you want to go and when while remaining flexible.

2. Let the kids be your lead. Example: I don't like parades at all, and so my DD 3 (then) didn't get to see any. This time, we'll watch the parades for her sake.

3. Take time to rest and hydrate - it's easy to get overheated in Sep.

4. Do Dumbo (or your child's potential favorite ride) as soon as you arrive at a park.

5. If you can drive to the parks yourself you may find this will relieve a lot of stress, as you can leave in a hurry.

6. (I know - one too many!) Unless your kids love restaurants, don't do too many table service meals. If you do, try mixing in character buffets where possible (then the food is immediately available and the characters enliven the meal).

Have a WONDERFUL time!
