O.K. I have been reading this board for a few months now and everyone has great info. My problem is there is so much; so give the top 5 (or 10) things to bring. What are the things that your are happy you didn't forget because they made the trip better?pirate: :jumping1:

Thanks we leave in 5 days!!!!!!!!!!!

5. Sunscreen. Trust me, you don't want to leave home without it.

4. Money.

3. Manners.

2. Extra socks.

1. Yourself! (And family/friends, if you have em. :) )

Hi, Not sure where your stateroom is, but we were glad we brought a nightlight and a clock. The rooms have a clock but is was hard to read if you were trying to check out the time when waking up. Also the extension cord came in handy. Have a great time! Patsy

2. Over the door shoe holder

3. More swimwear than formal wear

4. Soft side cooler with water / sodas etc.

5. 2 pairs each of water shoes

Favorite Coffee Mug !!!!!

1. DW
2. DD
3. DS
4. Lots of money, I like Disney stuff.
5. Camera, have to take the pictures of family watching me buy Disney stuff.

I was hoping the family might like to join me (yeah like they aren't as excited as I am). All the ideas are very helpful.

Highlighters for the Navigators

Small bills for postage at CC

Water shoes

Ziplock bags

Comfort kit (used samples so it was really small-fit in a tiny cosmetic case):
Advil, band-aids, tums, lotion etc...

A lanyard. We had so many people comment on ours, and say that they wish they had one in which to keep their KTTW and ID.

I would also second SUNSCREEN (reapply, reapply, reapply) and a water camera.

I'll go with 10 total (5 material and 5 more that are not things you can pack)

The first 5:

1- sunscreen

2 - camera(s) regular and at least one underwater disposable

3 - a good mix of clothes (fancier stuff for formal night - shorts and swimsuits for the days)

4 - a highlighter so you can look over the navigator either the night before or in the morning and see what you don't want to miss.

5- a good book. For me cruising is a great time to relax with a book.

The second 5:

1 - someone special to share it with

2 - a budget - you can get carried away with so many great souvineers, pictures, drinks etc. Go with a plan.

3 - knowledge. Do some research about the ports and excursions. Don't do something just because everyone else is doing it - do it because it sounds like something you would enjoy!

4 - the right attitude. You are on vacation - smile! Manners play into this - be on time for your meals, don't hog chairs up by the pool if you aren't using them, greet your servers warmly and share some time getting to know them.

5 - a sense of adventure. Don't be afraid to do something new or different. Whether it is trying someting new to eat or visiting that new port. Open up your world!

Over the door shoe hanger for us was a complete waste of space and time. There were plenty of shelves in our bathroom for the 4 of us and for the shoes, that id what the closet is for.

Definately don't forget the cooler, tylenol, tums, zip lock bags of all sizes to bring room service sandwiches on your excursions and 1 pair of comfortable shoes for lots of walking you are going to be doing.

Have fun!:wave2:

LOL! Where is BD? I haven't noticed his posts lately. Is he on the cruise?

One of my family members might just benefit from a 'tootbrush'!;)

Anyway here is my list:
1. Family
2. Camera
3. Swimsuits
4. Credit card
5. Luggage packed with enough clothes to go without doing laundry!

Where is BD?

I read elsewhere that he was recently banned. Someone said he got tangled up with another poster and crossed the line. Too bad, as he certainly was a character.

One thing we always bring are the water tight money holder, the flat kind, so you can bring your id, the cash you need & your room key. They just hang on your neck, so they really don't get in the way.
Manners, as some else said & a smile, esp. for the staff. The little extra's they can do are wonderfull.

I highly recommend taking some large ziplock bags. This is especially helpful for your wet clothes (swimsuits, etc.) when yo are packing for your return home. I also like to use them for my shoes (like flip flops and water shoes)

That was one thing I didn't have on my first cruise that I will not cruise without again.

Oh, and I know some people swear by the over the door shoe holders, but there is plenty of room for storage in the bathrooms and closets (and the other storage areas.) I have never personally seen a need for them.

You know those wonderful mugs you can buy that last you for your entire cruise? Have you ever noticed how they taste a bit funky by the end of your vacation? Bring a small bottle of dish soap to wash them out so your root beer doesn't smell like coffee. Just an idea.

1. extra cash
2. swim goggles for the kids
3. some more money
4. If you cruise over the holidays, bring pre-addressed envelopes so you can quicky send cards from Castaway Cay along with fun family photos from your trip
5. don't forget to leave a generous tip for the amazing cast members!
