I was going to mention that but wasn't sure I could get away with it! They also did Schwetty Weiners which I almost peed myself over. Along those lines was the Colnel Angus skit. :rotfl2:

Honorable mention: Love Will Ferrell as Alex Trabek in Jeopardy!

Will Ferrell has made me laugh so hard I could not breath on many occassions, but Jeopardy with Sean Connery turning everything into a dirty joke are my favorites.

More Cowbell!

Ana Gasteyer and Will Ferrell as the singing church couple
Will Ferrel and Sheri Oteri as chearleaders
Chris Farley-van down by the river
MANGO!
Will Ferrel and Rachel Dratch as the luvas

What about The Antonio Banderas, How Do you Say? Ah, yes.. Show. LOL!

And I love Mango, the Sprokets "do you want to touch my monkey? I would love to touch your monkey. Now we must dance!" :)

This one is from the old days:

The setting was a store in a run down shopping mall which sold nothing but tape. Not recording tape or computer tape, just sticky tape.

and another good oldie:

I think the host was Carole King, the setting: she's sitting at her piano, writing/singing the song "you've got a friend"
You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there
You've got a friend

While she's singing the song, a friend of hers gets repeatedly mugged at her doorstep...he's crying out "CAROLE", while she's singing "You just call out my name...."

Bill Murray as the lounge singer singing Star Wars

Jon Lovitz and Tom Hanks as the losers who can't get a date

All the guys in the "Da Bears" sketches

"The Chris Farley Show" ... remember that episode when Paul McCartney was the guest? Man that was awesome!

1. Wayne & Garth
2. Todd & Lisa
3. Land Shark
4. The cast of the "Cowbell" skit
5. Irving Mainway

What about Opera Man... I loved so many of the Adam Sandler sketches. SOme of his other songs were so funny.

Don't forget Dana Carvey as George Bush Sr, Phil Hartman as Clinton, and Dana Carvey again as Ross Perot. The debate scene with those 3, wherein Clinton envisions Bush as an old lady, Bush envisions CLinton as a toker, and they both envision Perot as a vertically challenged member of the Lollipop Guild from the Wizard of Oz... priceless. Carvey does an amazing Perot.

My kids howl over the Will Ferrell sketch "Dissing your dog"...

Dana Carvey as Massive Headwound Harry was funny too...

I still recall once sketch, however, that was SO funny, and I have yet to find it on ANY of the SNL DVD collections -- remember "Jord-Aid" ? (like Live Aid, but for Michael Jordan when he retired from basketball). Each SNL member played a different musician (I think Farley was Meatloaf, and Carvey and Myers were the Proclaimers... ) I can still see Carvey and Myers singing the "Walk 500 miles" chorus... "Michael Jordan! Michael Jordan! Na nana na nana na nana na nana na na na!!" and someone else (was it Sandler?) as Vedder/pearl jam singing, "OooOOOHHHhhh WEEEEEE--AHHHHHHHHHH Weeba-lamma-Who'sa-Pippen-gonna-pass-the-ball-tooooooo, UUHUUHHH YEAHHHH!"

Anytime they did musical compilations (with Sinatra, for example), it was always funny to see the different SNL cast members poke fun at the musicians.

I also thought the Hurlihey boy was funny. Sandler: "Please let me water your plants. Please. I'll take good care of them. PLease?" (and then Chris Farley... "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD -- LET THE BOY WATER YOUR FREAKIN' PLANTS!") Whatever -- you get the idea.

Number 1 by far is Dan Akroyd and Steve Martin as

2 wild and crazy guys.

Bill Murray as The Lounge Singer ("Star Wars, how 'bout those Star Wars?")
Dan Akroyd as the Bass-o-matic salesman
Will Ferrell and Cheri Oterri as the cheerleaders
Eddie Murphy as Buh Wheat, dammit!!
John Belushi as a killer bee - my first favorite!!!!

Piscopo as Sinatra and Murphy as Stevie Wonder singing "Ebony and Ivory." Sinatra: "You are black and I am white, life's an Eskimo Pie let's take a bite!"

What about Eddie Murphy as James Brown --

Yowww! Too hot in the HOT tub!

I think of that every time I get in a hot tub now!

:p

There are so many to choose from. In no particular order...

Buckwheat (Eddie Murphy)
Motivational Speaker (Chris Farley)
The Luvahs (Will Ferrell and Rachel Dratch)
Coneheads (Akroyd, Newman, Curtin)
Mary Katherine Gallagher (Molly Shannon)

(with apologies to Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, John Belushi, and Julia Sweeney among others)
